New Vader 3d sculpt

I definitely used to sand the large areas of my pla prints with a mouse sander, then use sandpaper. back when i had a mouse sander, now it's all hand sanding until i get a new one.

Also, progress may come slowly, my laptop i did my work on broke, so i gotta find a new laptop or desktop, i have saved my drives, so none of my progress is lost, i just need a new machine to work on.

I've never tried using power tools to sand PLA. I always start with 120 and then sand up though grades to at least 220. I use small diamond hand files for details and fill with Bondo spot putty. Then primer, sand, spot putty, repeat until I'm happy. I have my technique down pretty well and I like the control I have. It just kills my old hands these days, so it has to be worth it. This would definitely qualify as "worth it" though. :)

Well… it’s a rough print, but it tells me the pieces would fit, haven’t printed the reveal pieces, but for some reason on the mini print, the supports stick too much to the print, so I may eventually have to print a full sized version for some real tests, but just a small thing for now. I don’t have the necessary means for sanding at the moment, so it’s hard to really smooth it out for now.View attachment 1909910
The facemask looks fantastic. The tubes on the lower section are a little bit too wide.

i have the files for the full sized version saved on an SD card, i may give it a shot soon. my fdm printer is big enough to print the parts fully, just gonna be a long print! plus lots of post processing i'm sure! o_O
