New Tomenosuke Blaster Pro "Retail" version

You're going to be quite happy with this version of the blaster..... got "mine" (actually going to a client/friend of mine) about 12 hours ago via FedEx, direct from Japan. Even the 5 dummy bullets have been given a makeover, improved from the other TomPros....I did not expect that...cool. You will see.
As for the orange amber grips.... excellent color!....even the butt plate has been improved (very shiny) plus some other improvements
I can see. You guys will not be disappointed.:)

Hi Darth. Sorry.... don't think I'm going to take some photos of it yet. It's sleep time for me about now in Aussieland. :sleep I've packed mine away ready for shipping to a client/friend. (it's actually going to be his as I ordered it for him.... it's mine for a few days.....mwahhahhahha) A second TomPRO, that I ordered is going to be shipped later on, in the second round shipments.
Plus.... I just noticed there is a youtube video of the new TomPRO. See earlier post above for the link.

I gotta say after watching the video...I'm not a fan of the finish on this model at all...I'm glad I got a kit coming!!! Its too black and grey? The original looks way different ...

Since it was asked, I'll weigh in a little on the Coyle and Tomenosuke blasters. Darthwolf and CessnaDriver explained it pretty well but there's always one thing that really grinds my gears when it's mentioned....

Most of us are aware the time and effort Rich put into the research of the blaster and his history. He deserved a lot of credit for his contributions and I believe he's received plenty of that. I absolutely mean no disrespect to him because he has put in the hours and produced a great kit, and updated dated it several times. Us Blade Runner fans have benefited greatly from this. However, It's been noted here, and many other times (by Rich himself, especially) that Tomenosuke and others "copied" Rich's design. While Rich and Karl were on site to view the hero prop, so too, were the Tomenosuke team. They spent a lot of time with it as well and took their own photos and certainly performed a lot of their own R&D which did include a much earlier version of one of Rich's kits. If memory serves me correctly they even sent Rich a blaster as a sign of gratitude for his contributions to the Blade Runner community. How much they "borrowed" from his kit is debatable but that is why you have several versions now, just like Rich's. When new information comes out, or the production team realizes there is room for improvement it will be updated and released.

I don't need to re-explain what CessnaDriver already stated regarding the two because I think that's an accurate representation of how I feel about it but what I will say is that personally, I prefer the Tomenosuke Blaster for its cleaner lines, Rotating cylinder and overall quality of materials/production value. You do have more metal on the Coyle, but I'm ok with the hard/heavy plastic barrel of the Tomenosuke. Plus it's at a better price point, and while I understand that's achieved by having a production facility produce the blaster, that's also an important selling point for me. The Tomenosuke is a solid piece and feels like a real firearm. It has great weight/balance and just feels great in the hand.

I watched the video and while I changed my pre-order to a kit from the assembled model I don't mind the flat black of the receiver. I guess I imagine this piece as an "as issued" police blaster and not a copy of the hero blaster so much, that's what the kits are for! :)

All in all they're both great blasters and you just have to decide which one fits your preference more!

Well...you are correct on many points here. I speak with Rich often and Tomenosuke NEVER sent him a kit...they did send Karl a few versions of the blaster but Rich did not get one! That is coming straight from his mouth...if you look at the serial numbers on the inside of the lever on the Styer the copy give away is right there!! The markings on the Tomenosuke are identical to Rich's model...and those markings were from a Steyr receiver that Rich cast himself... or at least this is what Rich described to me in our last phone call...I like both versions of the blaster and am in no way discrediting the folks at Tomenosuke!? Their versions of the blaster are impeccable!!! Either one would be a great piece for a fan or collector to have! Soon, I'll have them both!
Now I have the Off World, a few Coyle's and a Tomenosuke soon....one can never have enough blasters!!! Cheers!

Well I stand corrected on that point, I thought I remembered Rich talking about them sending him a kit at some point but frankly I don't remember what I had for breakfast last week :)

I've seen Rich's photo regarding the upside down 72 date stamp, It does look like he has a case but could it be they also had a years 72 receiver and its a coincidence? It really doesn't matter in the end but like I said before its debatable how much they used his kit to produce their own. It was really just a pet peeve of mine and I'll reiterate I wasn't trying to disparage Rich or his contribution or derail this thread. Both kits definitely stand on their own and are worthy of any collection.

Hmm, guess there's been a minor factory update: http://tenshu53.exblog.jp/20168847/

Thanks for your strong support to TOMENOSUKE products. Now we have been delivering Assembled Model since last week.
However, yesterday our manufacturer, Marushin, informed us that the grip end was not painted as TOMENOSUKE team instructed and they would like to replace the new grip ends with small tool together.
Although we already arranged the delivery in the US, Canada and other regions, we would like to replace them all. For the customers we have not delivered yet will be receiving the blaster with the replacement part and tool, too. So the delivery of some customers will be delayed due to this arrangement. Hope you understand the situation.
Sorry for your inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation.

Yes. Likely... they said that a new part will be shipped out separately (with a tool...hex key(?)) to those customers who already had one shipped out to them.
I asked Mune of Hollywood-Japan. He said the part is on its way separately to me, regardless of the condition of the existing part. I take it that they are referring to the butt plate, I think.

It's good. It's really, really good.

I guess I'm a bit late to the party. The assembled gun is only 50 to the US, and those are gone, right? Where (and or can) the kits be had?

All of this last run of Tomenosuke's are gone...wait til they hit eBay...if they do!? This is the last run ever supposedly??? I hope you can track one down...

eBay prices will be stupid I'm sure. Crap! Making such small runs of things that are so popular really blows....

I'm a huge fan and I've built a lot of PKD kits...never had a Tomenosuke so I'm pretty darn excited!!! Sorry you missed out...hope you find s kind soul who won't gouge you too bad!! I was surprised to hear that they were only selling such a small amount in the USA ?! The Marishun cap firing version is supposedly very nice for under $800.00 they are available right now too I think...? I'll try to find the link for you...theirs is very nice and I believe metal as well...
