New Tomenosuke Blaster Pro "Retail" version

I live 2 hrs away from Cinemaquette factory. I should have it tomorrow ... Hope it's worth it, I know nothing bout it except it is rare... Lol

Hi all. I've been lurking forever but this is my first real post. I just got an email from HCG saying that my order has been completed for the Retailer version.

yep. got a tracking number so race to see who gets theirs first! Though I think HCG is a about a day behind.

Cool video. I think he said something to the effect ,"me love long time" lol. The rotating cylinder is pretty cool. It does look like he kept going back to the flat black finish on the top slide. Too bad they didn't blue it, would have taken it over the top. This will be my first BR blaster and I am seriously excited. I am on the payment plan but there is no way I can wait. Another week or so and I will tell them to just take it all!

Got mine, it is too cool for words. I'm scared to mess with it too much. It comes with this black knob with a flag screwdriver head? Don't know where that goes? Also it is a little tricky releasing the chamber for the bullets. I haven't trie firing it with bullets loaded. You should be able to do that right and it will still rotate?

it's a great prop. As an aside how is rich coyle different? All metal and green lights up?

Thanx.

The flathead screw is to replace the weaver knob. That screw on the right side with the star shape on it. The weaver knob was never observed in the movie, the flathead screw was. Though honestly the film is so dark it's almost impossible to tell. The weaver knob was installed after production at some point and the prop was photographed afterwards with it. Load the phony ammo and pull the trigger to your hearts content. I have the first Tomenosuke blaster and it's never been a problem, the cylinder will rotate like an actual revolver.

The Coyle does not have a revolving cylinder. Is all metal and can have the green LEDs wired to work as an option. I also own one and it is noticeably heavier, but it is also more fragile and should be treated with care as an assembled model.

Thanks for response! Very educational.

What do you know about the Sidkit version and how is it different?

Why is the all metal Coyle version more fragile? How so? Seems counterintuitive as it's all metal after all. Is it the electronics that are fragile. Also why does the Coyle version not have a revolving cylinder when it does have working triggers and hammer?

Finally, having owned both, which do you like better and why?

i think a Coyle goes around 1500? Pretty big increase for all metal version and light up green LEDs.

Thanks!

Well...Rich hand casts his parts out of pewter which is why they are a bit more fragile than the machine made Tomenosuke versions...which were made while having one of his models on hand, by the way...also, Rich was the guy who put YEARS of research into this blaster and was the guy who put out several models before the World Con convention when Karl Tate found the hero prop and Rich flew in there to take photos and see the blaster himself...the reason his cylinder doesn't spin is because the parts necessary to make it do that are very hard to cast by hand in pewter also, his blaster isn't made for cosplay or conventions they are more display pieces! Basically most of the available models of this gun out there is the Off World, Hartford Airsoft, etc were ALL copies from Rich's designs and work...except for the Japanese Kyogi versions ...he was into making them before rich I believe? This is where my knowledge gets slightly vague...I'm pretty sure Karl knows more about these versions than me?
All in all, the real difference is hand made vs machine made...

PS...not all of Rich's versions have green LEDs that light up...you must ask for that feature when ordering from him..

I like them both for different reasons.
In a nutshell...
The Coyle is as a long used veterans weapon showing years of wear.
The Tomens are as day one issued.

Of course the Coyle is a kit and the Tomens can come as a kit as well.
So both can be built to custom appearances, though the Coyle is never going to have
the factory machined perfect fit and finish the Tomens can offer.
My builder for the Coyle was dearly challenged at times, this was not the latest kit and goes years back now.

I've built a bunch of Rich's kits...he is a friend...they are not for an inexperienced prop builder at all...to me, they have a much realer feel because they look worn and used...nothing in BR looks new or just made except maybe some of the Tyrrell Co stuff...for that reason, I like Rich's blasters better...I have three of them that I built for myself and I love them...plus I do like keeping the $$$ in the USA...but I am getting a Tome kit to see what the hype is all about...all in all, they are both works of art...just two different versions of this blaster...

I have several Coyle building threads up for anyone who wants to see how much work goes into one...several weeks to a month of work but it feels great to do it yourself...

Yep! Cibi glasses very expensive but way cool...I have two of them the pair cost me $160.00!!! But if you're a fan, you gotta have it!!

Yeah, this is what my browser has looked like for the last month or so, trying to wait so it'll go on my xmas list, but we'll see...
