New to RPF - Catwoman costume project

Good work on the boots, I remembered your post about them and when I was browsing another website today I saw the exact same ones for sale in the UK, I couldn't remember where you were from so thought I'd check. Glad you got them, the look just the ticket!

If anyone in the UK is looking for the same boots (with a platform), they sell them here for £56.95

Could be the blurryness of your avatar, but you kinda look like Simon Pegg a little - you should get a Scotty uniform together from Anovos!
(sorry to go off topic)

I'm pretty proud of my girl - always wanted a chick that was into this sort of thing....costuming, I mean - so it's good she's doin' her homework and getting it all together. Lord knows I got enough stuff to worry about when putting my own ensambles together.
Hopefully we get her educated enough where she can start buying me prop replicas WITHOUT my specific direction and input:love

Those boots look great! And based upon what I'm seeing, I think you'll be able to pull this costume off quite well. Keep it up.

Re: New to RPF

These look close. They are on Ebay for $35

This is looking great so far! GeneralFrosty is a lucky guy to have a girl that's interested in costuming!

ps. if I had a monkey I'd name it Ampersand. I know, I'm not original.

Is it ridiculous to obsess over the zipper? I am looking for one that has a big roung ring pull like she is wearing in the game but I can only find smaller ones.

Hahahaha! I'm built more like James Doohan than Simon Pegg, but thanks... I'll take any compliment I can get!

Having a little OCD can be your best friend or your worst enemy when working on a prop or costume project.
The upside is it drives you to achieve better, seeking more detail.
The downside is it drives you crazy!!:wacko

My way to deal with that is iterative costume development. I never expect V1 to be "right", so I do the best I can in a relatively short time frame, then upgrade!

On the zipper note, I'd guess you could easily put a larger ring into any old zipper pull.

The only problem with that is when making a close-enough is almost as expensive as the real thing and making the costume twice will put you on the street. I'm working on one right now on short notice that's running me as much as costumes I've spent over a year on, with a time limit to make matters worse.
