New Star Wars items in Rubies Catalog

I glanced through the recent Rubies catalog for 2008/09 and found a few things that I found interesting.
Unfortunately, the catalog is in Flash, so I can not post direct links.

There are pics of adult-sized Star Wars costumes from page 198 onwards.

Page 198: Leia ANH and Slave Leia outfit(!) A line called "Secret Wishes" ... :rolleyes
Maybe the Slave Leia pieces could be a good start? I have not researched this costume, so I can not tell, but I have heard that some parts of this costume can be quite difficult to make.
Edit: A critical view of the costume can be found here.

Page 202: Adult-sized Boba Fett (!) with EVA-molded pieces, including a gauntlet and knee darts.

Page 206: EVA-molded Clone trooper.. in the 501st Legion color scheme. :wacko

Apparently there are two Stormtrooper outfits with molded pieces, one in "EVA" (page 202) and the "Supreme Edition" on page 207.

It's about as accurate as... the rest of that Rubies... uh... what were you saying? :love

NIIIICE...:D

But since we all know that in the end the final product never looks like advertised, we will get a 300 lbs. redeheaded woman in the mid fifties with bad skin and rotten teeth!

Oh wait....we´re talking about the costume, right!? :$ ;)

What I found interesting is there toy SOLO blaster. Its blue with orange tip BUT ALL THE DETAILS ARE ACCURATE. Looks like it was molded off of the MR. Little paint and it would make for a nice con piece.

I am not a Rubies basher, I do appreciate they give people an affordable option to get what they want and allows more folks to show their love for something I love as well, like Star Wars. While I would rather have some fan made props instead in many cases myself, I don't mind people having choices and get all righteous about it.
That all being said, it is even more true with the Slave costume:)
Even a bad Slave girl is good. I have seen some very inaccurate version of this costume over the years on some very lovely ladies, and was able to look past the costume flaws:rolleyes
Thanks Rubies, the world can always use more Princesses on a chain:love

Her shoes aren't accurate.

Neither is the excessive body oil, but who's complainin?

Actually, as a straight man who has an unhealthy obsession with cute shoes, these are much more appealing than those awful Ugs. :lol

But hark! My day is saved. An inflatable Boba Fett jetpack! The Coupe De Grace to my ensemble!

I'll bet you did! Say no more!! Nudge nudge!!!:lol

Yeah the ladies in those Secret Wishes photos would make any not so great costume look good when you add body oil, hahaha. I've seen that slave outfit at a store before and does not look THAT good.

1000th post! 1500th if you count the off-topic and Junkyard posts, hahaha!

Those imperial-issue blasters the little clones are holding interest me as much as the solo blasters. Have we finally started making semi-accurate mass produced props?:lol

That looks like the original image was colorized in Photoshop and not the actual paint job color so it might be an actual MR photo.

There's photos of people in costume holding it as well. If it IS cast off the MR, that'd be GREAT. An accurate, affordable "throw away" blaster for costuming.

All the little kids stuff is GREAT. The adult stuff.... Not so much.

Though maybe I have a screw loose, but I think the girl in the ANH Leia is hotter than the Slave Leia. Just sayin' :cool

The Solo blaster caught my eye as well. Nice paint job and a good trooping blaster to sit in your holster.

Is it me or are the classic Leia (white gown, buns) models actually men??

I noticed that, too. Perhaps a new Hasbro gun? It's looks like a properly cast Sterling complete with Hengsler counter and the wires.

regarding the DL-44, what do you suppose the cost will be? It is a manipulated photo. Who will be brave enough to see what an actual production piece will look like, lol.
