Well, this is it, Solo, as I've been saying. I mean let's remind ourselves of why Lucas in 1974 chose to film only the middle part of the storyline he'd written for 'The Star Wars'. Because it was the most entertaining bit! He knew back then that a wall-to-wall Jedi saga was gonna make people yawn.
As to the films being the droids' stories. There's a case for this in the first film, but thereafter, and especially in Jedi they're relegated to sidemen. As for the prequels, the droids were forced into those stories with a shoehorn. It's ludicrous that Vader made Threepio; it's ludicrous that the older Kenobi forgot that D2 had been in his life for years previously.
