New Star Trek TOS Phaser coming November 2014

On the two I have. the moveable emitter gave up the ghost pretty fast on one.
I think I just slightly bumped up against the stop and that was it.
You can still adjust it by pushing or pulling it where you want it.
I prefer them extended as far as possible. It's not something I change much. One had the tight dilithium chamber but with
some useage it's fine now. I did see the P2 LED not working upon trigger pull problem on one unit but seems
to be not as frequent now.

Sometimes she says "sorry" when she doesn't like something I did. Not sure what though.

I love how the mode light will pulse in program mode. I wish I could have that in FX mode. Looks very cool and
seems at home on an energy weapon prop.

Another company has the license for classic Trek prop replicas. Labeling as a remote allows wiggle room for multiple licensees on what is essentially the same piece.

As for the overseas thing...These days, it's more so of very simple matter of does it or doesn't it look like a gun? Space guns, laser guns and the like are generally considered theater props since they do not resemble any 'real' firearm. Unfortunately, an overzealous customs agent can still take issue with anything they choose.

We discussed that earlier -- the main reason is some countries don't allow imports of replica weapons, so it's officially a remote control.

This is so deplorable, I'm actually speechless. I'm very curious if we'll hear anything from the Wand Comp about this? What the hell were they thinking at TG?

Both packages, from ST.com and Think Geek, arrived on the same day. I will say that with Think Geek's free shipping you get, or rather don't get what you don't pay for. They just popped the box into a flimsy non-padded envelope and shipped it. When itt arrived the package was partially torn open with the torn corner of the box poking through. Upon opening, the cardboard outer box was trashed! crunched and torn open on both ends. Fortunately the plastic display box was un scathed and the phaser inside was fine. Still, it's kind of appalling.

On the other hand the one from Star Trek.com came in a sturdy outer box with extra padding and was in perfect shape.

Overall I'm very happy with this phaser. My only complaints are minor, especially considering the price point. And if you have more than one the boxes interlock for stacking!

I often chuckle to myself when I hear someone ask, "What the hell were they thinking?" I chuckle because of the assumption that any thought took place.

Rylo, you've set the bar so high from variety of offerings to quality every step of the way and customer service second to none. Always a pleasure doing business with you. Too bad some companies take their service the other direction. TG ought to be ashamed of their "free shipping".

Ted.

I just wanted to mention I had my Icons LIS pistol with me - packed in it's original box and foam, this was about 2000-2001, and was attempting to board a flight with it. Well the TSA agents wouldnt let me board with it. I had called ahead and been told it wouldnt be a problem because it was a just movie prop/toy, but when I got there they freaked out and wouldnt even allow me to remove it from the box to show them it wasnt like a real gun at all. I ended up having to put it in baggage, which I didnt want to do because I thought it might get damaged (it didnt). So yeah I agree with Rylo, all it takes is for one person to decide something might be dangerous and you're out of luck.

Anyway carry on. :)

The TG shipping issue has nothing to do with free shipping. I ordered two phasers on the same day (2 separate orders) with the same discount code each time. Both shipped the same day and both arrived the same day. One showed up in a box, the other in a bag, I can only assume it's up to the person packing the item.

So, here they are boys and girls, the reader's digest version. These are the 8 I have discovered so far with the episodes (I believe) they originated from. Note that these are the order in which I discovered them, not necessarily the order they appear in. I just kept hitting the mode button 8x and transcribing what came out.

of the 2 I got from ST.COM 1 has a very tight emitter and the other works just fine. You must understand that anything mass produced in China will have defective units sent out anyway, say 1 to 20 out of 100 may be bad, they will sneak in the bad 1s here and there to alleviate production losses.

a warranty is a warranty , call them up and get a RMA , send it back and get a good 1,, also see if you can get them to pay return shipping to them.
Ugh, don't say that. I tend to get the defective ones that slip through.

Yeah, that's usually MY luck. I wasn't pleased to see the big splotch on the left side of the P1 when I took mine out of the case. I'm working with ST.com right now to see about sending it back, and they're supposed to call me tomorrow. Hopefully it won't be a pain to get a new one.

like I posted before I got 2 of which 1 isn't 100% so there you go , an actual 50% rejection rate for the P2 nozzle on my lot :facepalm
