NEW! (Metal) Cross of Coronado - Progress Thread

I have a feeling this picture from the videogame magazine is a replica and not the most accurate . Has anyone compared this to actual screenshots ?I think the one in the Archive books seems to be more accurate than this image .I am not an authority and don't mean to question Brentons excellent work but I am curious to see some very accurate images of the actual screen used cross and there don't seem to be any out there . Bill

I want to share this detailed front image for screen used cross of coronado, I found it in a old videogame's magazine dated 1991.

You can see incredible detail of the cross:

And now I want compare 4 different cross:

Magnoli, Markpoon, Screen Used and RelicMaker's WIP. You can see different for any version and you can see INCREDIBLE detail for relicmaker's cross!!!

Congratulation Brenton, your cross appers to be the same of the original prop! ;)

One detail I noticed that isn't on your Corpus, is that looking at the large picture, you can see that it looks like the legs are tied together at the ankle. A small thing, but just something I noticed.

BTW...This piece is MY holy grail of Indy props. It's absolutely amazing so far.

I guess you already have a source for your Brass Rolo chain? I had a post on the back of mine and it glued into a hole in the cross.

There will be a doubled up chain, and I'm going to add small knobs on the back of the corpus so it will have inserts onto the cross it will glue into for it to be much more secured.

I've been in discussions constantly during the making of this cross on which CoC image is the correct one, and it turns out that the game image is much closer to the film version than the archives version. The evidence is the placement of the hands and feet. The screencaps to look at would be when Fedora finds the cross in the cavern, and also when the cross is being wrestled for after the snake scene on the train.
You will see that the placement of the hands and feet are dead on in comparison to the game cross image.

Your talking about this shot right brenton?

That's the one!
See how the feet are over to the right just a bit and how the right hand is up on the border, just like the game pic?

Yes there ya go can't get anymore confirmation than that :cool.Really looking foward to the finished cross I mean who isn't :love

Okay, today I officially crossless. I sold my Magnoli Cross and I NEED THIS ONE!!!

Brenton, how's this going?

Any estimated time of being done. I am so excited for this, about a year in the making!

Just kidding!:lol

This week I've made the attachment on the Corpus so it will attach to the cross securely, and also had Rebelscum help me out by laser cutting the fittings for the stones and pearls.
I've got to leave for out of town this weekend, but hope to be able to throw everything into a mold by ealry next week.:cool:thumbsup

That kind of talk in the prop forum will get you a smack on the hand. :)

Exactly! This is just a progress thread for a cross that I'm currently making for myself. No talk about interest lists, please!

JERK!!! :lol

HeeHee!:cool

I'm also still waiting for the pearls to come in to make sure the settings I had cut are going to be the right size. I had the settings cut to the measurement of the pearls that I ordered, but I don't want to make the mold and then have the pearls not fit into it's setting after it's cast.
I thought I had ordered the pearls a while back, but I think that was when I had a bad case of anal glaucoma!:unsure:lol
