New Martian war machine model (1953 version)

Yeah, that's the one I wanted. It was a bit confusing. It was in the Pre-Built section but was the normal kit. Odd.

Although these look pretty darn cool. Was the finish on the real one THAT polished? I just don't think so. Needs to be taken down a bit. Probably sounds crazy but I'd go at that with some really fine steel wool. Give it more of a brushed look. I believe it would be more accurate that way.

The original models had a dull copper color, a bit of a sheen but not mirror like.
Copper paint is probably the best finish.

The original models were actually made of copper. That is why they are all gone. They were reported recycled for the copper for some charity.

I would love to see a digital clean-up of that film. Not a re-do of the effects, just take out some of the obvious wires and give it a Blu-ray release.

I just ordered the pre-built and the kit (to be lit) directly from Pegasus. They have them in stock at the store, and are open till 5PM PT if anyone else is interested..:)

I talked to Rob..

Just an FYI :)

If they were recycled it would have been after Robinson cruso on Mars. Same ships repainted but without the neck IIRC.

Got mine off of ebay for 19 bucks. Can't beat it. I'm looking forward to lighting this thing!!! Just finished watching the movie again . . . I'm fired up!! lol

Call the store 909-982-6507 ask for Rob or Erik.. I just ordered one of each yesterday. (pre-built & kit)

Who is going to be the first to build the walker version seen in the War of the Worlds TV series episode “Dust to Dust”?

Here's a shot of the Monsters in Motion MWM I built a few years back. Although obnoxiously overpriced, the patterning work is spot on.

I suspect the Pegasus kit may be based on the same pattern as the MiM kit, but I haven't been able to confirm my theory. By chance has anyone compared the two models side-by-side?

On the Pegasus the rotating turret that the heat ray is attached to sticks up a bit, it is not flush with the upper surface.

I am guessing that is not correct?

So a little work there will be necessary.

Man if we could work out a flexible heat ray (up down direction) that would be awesome.

Hoping to get one of these next weekend. I can do a comparo to my MiM MWM. I suspect it is based on the MiM. How do you like that, MiM got recasted!:lol
