New Hasbro Toy Lightsabers

All good points. Thanks, guys! For that price I should be thinking about getting a Graflex 2.0 from Korbanth and a crystal reveal kit from Master Yoda over at FX-Sabers.

What possible incentive would Hasbro/Disney have to NOT make more? Everyone wants a lightsaber these days, and not everyone has the skills or wants to buy the kind sabersmiths are selling (that Hasbro/Disney aren't making money off of anyway).

Restocking is inevitable

Has anyone heard from MAster Yoda? He hasn't logged on to FX-Sabers in 3 weeks.

Disneyland was fully stocked.
Said they "have tons more in back".

Looking through listings, it appears there will be a low end Kanan lightsaber toy.

This case includes 8 individually packaged lightsabers:

2x SW E6 LUKE SKYWALKER LIGHTSABER
3x SW E4 DARTH VADER LIGHTSABER
3x SW R RP KANAN JARRUS

These are the $10 type you flick open not the battery operated "electronic" type.

How do these fx sabers compare to the prop replicas? In the past they've been oversized to fit the electronics in which seriously put me off.

It varies model to model. The best IMO are the Luke ANH and Vader ESB. They are not accurate by any stretch but are as close as you will get with a Force FX. Also, they are pretty easy to convert to LED in the hilt and hold up well to dueling after converting. All-in-all a pretty nifty toy for the $ and a real gateway drug to prop collecting (ask me how I know :)).

I think when the Revenge of the Sith Fx wave hit is when they made the switch from 3 AA to 3 AAA batteries. This enabled the hilt sizes to go down.

As stated, you have to do your research but the later ones seem vey good. Of course the ones like obi Revenge of the Sith and Luke Return of the Jedi suffer with the fat neck. I really think they should have just avoid those designs until they could do them right.

The current black series Luke is still oversized compared to an actual graflex. Still, pretty cool for the $. Dig mine, will eventually do an LED conversion.

FYI Gamestop locations are getting the new assortment in now which includes the ROTJ Luke and ANH luke. You can check store stock on their site. Good time to get that ANH for $149.

I was secretly hoping that the Luke Return of the Jedi Lightsaber would be a redesign and finally give us a skinny neck. Alas... it's the same old distorted version you could have bought a few years ago for $50 cheaper.

You and me both... Any news on what saber's ae coming out?

Picked up an ANH Luke at Gamestop and had to instantly return it. The glass eye was sloppily glued in, there were scratches through the metal down to copper on the clamp area, The bunny ears were on crooked, the slide switch in the side was crooked and couldnt be fixed, and the grips had splotches and hairs stuck in the paint. Total mess. hasbro needs to get this crap together..

Sounds like you bought a returned/repacked item... Hair on the handgrips doesn't sound like a "factory issue".

I got the Luke ANH black series lightsaber last year for $100 shipped from Hasbro with a deal they had going on. No complaints and its a nice piece to mess around with.

Are you asking strictly about Black Series FX? The Luke Return of the Jedi was the news at SDCC. It was known prior but it finally was shown. No other FX Lightsabers were shown.

I think I saw YakFace's Rogue One check lisf for force Friday had a Vader Episode V FX on it. Most likely a mistake.

Maybe.

As far as I know, the latest offering is wave 3 which includes the previously released Vader (Eps IV), Luke (Eps IV), and the newly offered.. but really a re-release Luke (Eps VI). The Yoda has been omitted from the wave.

You would think they could take a little effort and offer Eps V Vader and Luke or a TFA Luke/Rey. But then again, going the extra mile is no longer a term Hasbro is known for.

Agreed. Considering they have the molds to create the Rey/Luke 'ESB' saber it's surprising it hasn't been re-released. Honestly, it's amazing they haven't released any of their older models. Obi-wan, Dooku, etc.
