New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

Can I just say how much I love the pun in the title of the last episode?

"The God Complex" HA!

Get it? Matt Smith's Doctor has a God Complex

...AND a creature pretending to be a God lives in a maze (A Complex) designed for him. Thus the characters are all IN a God Complex.

I've read some reviews that clearly thought it was just a line picked from the episode, not getting the pun. And since it took me two whole days to figure out the pun, I just wanted to share.

As for 11's greatest fear: the 12th Doctor.

As for 11's greatest fear: the 12th Doctor.

Is that possible? Since we know that the Doctor is killed by Melody/River in his 11th Doctor form, and that is a "fixed point" (assuming that is why River is in Stormcage), doesn't that logically negate a 12th Doctor?

I'm so lost at times my head hurts. :wacko

Timey Wimey Hokey Pokey Supercallafragellistic Expy WTFus. They'll write their way around it and continue the series I'm sure.

Well sure...they did it with the Master.

And while I used the term "logically," I know full well logic has nothing to do with it. :lol

All they have to do is say that the doctor killed on the beach was the Flesh Doctor (Save by the future Doctor by going back to the exact moment they last saw each other) and that fixed point can remain fixed, and the 11th can walk away to someday become the 12th.

And the cloister bells could just signal the grave danger preceding the regeneration.

...or the sound guys just like how it sounded.

Random thought: in the beginning of the first ep Rory and Amy are in the living room of their house...a house which the Doctor just gave them in the most recent episode. Could we be seeing events in a non-linear fashion that only seem to be in order?

Yes Wazooo...I believe we are seeing things in a very non-linear yet same timeline.
It is why we have seen the Doctor with the long coat , a tux and his regular clothes.

I wonder if the last episode this season will show him hand delivering the cards.

Maybe the Doctor saw what happens in his next regeneration. The Valeyard aka the Dream Lord. I imagine a regeneration where the Doctor separates in to a good and evil form warrants a cloister bell.

The Cloister Bell was for recall to Galifrey....or did they change that recently?

I seem to recall that was how they got the doctor back there from time to time in the past.
I do not recall it as an emergency bell for something localized like just the TARDIS..because it would have gone off when it was being melted wouldn't it have?

I was under the impression that is signaled grave danger for the Doctor. Recall to Gallifrey wasn't part of it IIRC. The first time it's heard to my knowledge is in Logopolis with Tom Baker.

EDIT: Found this info on the Cloister Bell

I thought that was what was going on for sure (that the end of "The God Complex" took place a bit before the Impossible Astronaut) so I went back and watched it again. But Amy says to say hello to her daughter river in the last scene.

There has got to be some kind of timeline thing going on due to the different costumes (I can not wait to see what the deal is with the Tux :lol:lol:lol). I wonder if we are seeing a mix of the older 200 year older Doctor in some episodes and the younger version in others???

One thing that struck me from re watching the "Demon Run" episodes, it seemed like River knew that Rory was her Father for the first time in that episode (she acted way different). I think we need a Visio flow chart :)

"The Cloister Bell was an alarm bell located in the Cloister Room inside of TARDISes. The Cloister Bell was to be used in the most serious and utmost emergencies, emergencies so grave that even the TARDIS itself (and its inhabitants) was in danger"

I'm pretty sure it's always been this way.
