New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

If this episode stated that the sun set in the East, would that have bothered you?

Since it's the first part of a two-part episode, I'd have waited until the storytellers completed their tale so I could see whether or not any nitpick I might initially have was eventually addressed or not. But, to answer your question... probably not. I tend to take a nice candlelit bath in my entertainment, not Third-World-country-rusty-scapel autopsy it.

That acid pumping system is just as scientificly impossible.

The thing I like best about the DOCTOR WHO format is that the storytellers can tell any sort of story they want, and then the loony man in the blue box shows up and turns everything sideways for our entertainment.

Yeah, but no where on Earth is it pumped out of the ground.

Thats what they want you to think.

Seriously, its a show about an alien who can time travel, space travel, and bowties that are cool

and we are bickering about the feasibility of a factory that pumps out acid from the ground.

Does anyone else have a problem with the way it comes on now, with Amy saying that the Doctor was her imaginary friend? It's never needed an opening explanation before.

That's the opening to the 2nd episode of season 5 when Amy was floating in space above Starship UK. BBC-A is really trying to start who from the Matt Smith era.

I am starting to thing that the Doctor is in the space suit from the first episode and the one we see shot is one of these acid copies. The Doctor seemed a bit off in the start of that episode (I figured it was just because a new season started) but maybe it was by design.

I am going to go watch the episode again and see if I get the same vibe :lol:lol

I can't see the Doctor ever gunning down a creature/lifeform/whatever just like that, there has always been a theme from day one, a kind of rule that the doctor doesn't use guns, however I do think the clone has 'something' to do with it

Maybe.
But I'm getting the feeling that this cloned doctor aspect of the two parter may be something of a red herring for the ultimate reveal.

Were you even paying attention to the storm that was going on during the episode? If the planet can get so messed up that we have storms like that, I don't think underground acid would be the biggest concern. That being said, it's a TV show for entertainment where literally ANYTHING can happen. If you're that bothered by something so insignificant, save us all the trouble and don't watch.

Anyhow, great episode. This season has actually started to get pretty creepy. From the next episode trailer it looks like the Doctor doesn't have any problem with killing his clone, so maybe the real Doctor was in the space suit.

I'm just jazzed to see the Doctor, Amy and Rory back in action. I really love this crew. The stories are getting really great and there are so many theories to keep you thinking about what is going to happen next.
As far as Amy being pregnent, there are two possibilites I have considered - one is that the pregnency is stuck in some kind of time loop which is why the scanner is reading positive/negative - the other is that she is pregnent with the Silence and the TARDIS forgets the pregnency as soon as it reads it (I think that theory was posted before)
In any case, LOVING Matt Smith as the Doctor and I hope they keep Amy AND Rory around for a while. It's a fun group....

It's amazing how people will defend what was once a great show that continues to decline in quality.

Sorry folks, it's been increasingly crap since Matt Smith came aboard.
