New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

One thing I remember that seems significant is when Idris/Tardis touches Amy on the face. I have a feeling they'll be referring back to that moment later on this season.

.

yep.. totally smacked of a Spock/McCoy mind transfer...

I enjoyed it, but I will agree about the show's overall audio production being a bit off..

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

Man, Moffat even gets blamed for the stuff he doesn't write.
Haters gonna hate.
He dictates the direction of the episodes and ultimatly has final authority on everything that goes onscreen. Anything that goes wrong is his fault.

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

A question, is the ship that River kills all of the Silence in the same one that is in the lodger? I remember the Doctor mentioning in the episode that he had seen one of the ships before and wondered why it was abandoned. If someone showed up and shot everyone that would be a good reason for it to be abandon. It would have been sitting there since 1969 but they really do not specifiy where the ship was in the episode.

Definitely the same set, though lit darker. Whether it's the *same* ship or now, don't recall anything specific.

A little paranoia fuel for you though, what if there were Silence in the ship from "The Lodger" and the Doctor just didn't remember?

That's a cool idea. I'm still waiting to see if the silence are even coming back though. Did he beat them, or just p*** them off?

It's been my theory all along that The Doctor killed in the first episode this season was a clone of sorts. Hopefully it is!

One of the things I've been thinking about: How weird would it be if most of River's adventures were with a clone Doctor instead of the "real" Doctor?

The issue that got me wondering would be this:
Human: "it's the Silence. Kill 'em!"
A week later...
Human: "honey, what's that smell? OH my god! it's a dead alien! I'll just grab a shovel and... Honey? what's that smell?"

July 1969 had to be the month of putrid smells.

The episode seemed to indicate that there are clones, and that there's one of the Doctor created. It could very well be that the eyes are those of the clone.

Interesting theory that the Doctor which is shot is a clone...

But I wonder if that means that they plan on having the clone also regenerate like a Time Lord? Jenny didn't, but different writer, different idea I suppose.

I'm tired of "mystery" arcs. I don't need Red Wolfs or cracks in the walls or creepy women peeking out of windows. Just concentrate on telling THIS WEEK's story, thank you.

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

Yea, I'm getting a little tired of Rory dieing over and over again, too. It makes me nervous, because he's my favorite of the three companions.

Also, we're seeing an awful lot of TARDIS consoles lately, aren't we?

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

Maybe it's karma balancing out his luck for getting a girl like Amy? I kinda think it all plays to Rory's well-meaning, slightly bumbling, but ultimately brave personality.... But it does mean he's become the perpetual Redshirt. As long as it doesn't get overused I find it kinda funny.
"I wonder if it's dangerous out there?"
"Dunno, let's send Rory out and see if he dies again." :lol

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

Karma for getting Amy? She treats him like ****, I think that's karma enough.

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

The TARDIS became invisible in the Patrick Troughton story 'The Invasion' but that was due to a malfunction, materialisation circuits IIRC after almost being hit by a Cyber-missile, can't recall it ever being 'cloaked' before

I don't see the Doctor having a clone. I guess if it was made against his will then maybe. This is the most excited I've been about the series since Matt Smitt took over. I'm glad to see him becoming more "Doctorish". I would like to see a few more old companions to. Throw us old time fans a couple of more bones along the way.
