New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

It'll be our li'l secret. Much like my future marriage to Karen Gillan. ;)
Oh.. I'm sorry? I didn't tell you? After six years of living in Utah, I have to admit polygamy is alive and well, and I ah.. I'll have both of them. Sorry to dash your hopes and dreams! ;) :lol

I droed out of the Whoverse when Baker left.I was excted when the 2005 series started , but I was not crazy about the 9th doctor either and dropped out again. After reading what a great Doctor that Tennant was I went back and got the his seasons. Love Tennant and Matt Smith. I have heard some people say the new season is to confusing, but I think they are just being lazy. I like shows with depth and unanswered questions. Reality TV has really hurt TV. No one wants to have to think anymore. And I must say Amy Pond is the sexiest companion ever.

Anyone else notice that the visual interface in LKH kept repeating the Doctor had 32 mins left to live and that at the lake, they all met at 4:30 and the Doctor's death ocurred at 5:02. Too much of a coincidence perhaps.

Does anyone think they may try to give Miracle Day a slight mention in Doctor Who? They are all set in the same universe and I think its strange that the Doctor doesn't know about something as big as the Miracle happening. I doubt they would mention it since most stuff in Torchwood doesn't get mentioned in Doctor Who.

I can't wait to see The Girl Who Waited tonight!

Thoughts on this weeks episode? It was a very moving Amy story. I saw the whole Doctor lying part and really didn't like the fact that he put it all on Rory. The Doctor has to make those type of decisions sometimes for people. Though tons of CGI I thought the effects looked great.

I don't think you were meant to like the Doctor 'putting it all on Rory'. Like he said "It's not fair! You're turning me into you!"
However it did give Rory some wonderful moments and really helped build his character. Karren Gillan really acted her socks off on this one, brilliant stuff!
So, how long before someone has a badass/action hero Amy costume?

Well I personally thought this was a terrible episode. I found older Amy to be a very hostile person even to Rory. Now I know that she was on her own for 36 years, but she acts as if the Doctor and Rory just shot off by themselves on a joy ride without even trying to save her. She knows that isn't the case considering the countless times the Doctor has saved her. The young Amy also knows that the older Amy has been refusing to help. So is it really all the Doctor's fault? Not to mention if Rory and Amy find the Doctor so irresponsible in his actions and travels why do they continue to travel with him. They should just let him take them home and live out their lives. As far as the Doctor lying about saving both, he promised young Amy that he would save her, if it required a lie to get older Amy to help, then he did the right thing. To be honest, what other choice did he have. Terrible episode IMHO

Rory has seen how terrible the consequences can be for those around the Doctor and aware like many past companions have that nothing good can come from staying at his side for too long.

This was a pretty solid doctor-lite episode with superb performances by both Gillan and Darvill, lots of neat elements in this episode, the temporal paradox created by the two parallel time streams and the hard decision made was tragic, the visuals in the garden simulation were refreshing to see and handbot 'Rory' is now on my want to see costume wishlist.

There certainly has been a lot of variety this series and I can't wait to see next week's episode penned by Toby Whithouse, from the previews I've seen from SDCC this one should be pretty spooky.

I really loved The Girl Who Waited. It really showed the heart wrenching decisions the Doctor has to make sometimes, and Rory had to make one too. This was pretty much like Rory's version of the episode Amy's Choice. Older Amy was hostile, but in her defense, she spent 36 years alone and she thought she was abandoned. I know Rory waited 2000 years, but he admitted in the Impossible Astronaut that he doesn't remember all of it.
