New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

WoW you all are really anal about this stuff aren't you? lol...Sorry if I don't want to go searching for other threads from months ago, that's just insanity!

Anal is what the RPF is all about.

I am very sorry if I upset people with my suggestion on merging Dr Who Series 6 discussion threads, I hope the fact that I phrased it as a question as opposed to a demand will go in my favour at least :lol It just seemed to me like for other shows such as Lost there were dedicated discussion threads, instead of filling the OT section with things like 'Amy Pond must be Omega - discuss' end of rant

Re: Dr. Who New Season SPOILER

anyway, just watched the curse.. actually not bad. Obvious pirate angle aside and plot issues do to time constraints.

So thoughts on the black spot episode and holographic doctor? The only thing I thought was odd was that the doctor didn't help Amy with Rory. I mean he's 906, he must know CPR or have something on the Tardis to help.

I was wondering what he was doing just watching myself, looked like he didn't have a clue! the episode as a whole fell a bit flat for me, but the next one looks interesting

Was thinking the same thing. Also why did they take him into the TARDIS anyway. Couldn't they have done CPR right there? And what the heck was up with the little sliding window someone kept looking out of. I guess only Amy could see it.

Initial thoughts three eps in...

They are beating the "ZOMG SOMEBODY'S DEAD" drum like a Buddy Rich solo.

In Ep 3, that ain't how CPR works.

Other than that, I'm liking it so far, although the series spanning gimmicks (Bad Wolf, Cracks, 3D glasses and now some daft woman looking through a hatch) are starting to feel a little formulaic. And I love River Song.

"I'm quite the screamer... now there's a spoiler!" :lol

I thought this last episode was pretty sad. The ending was the worst part, but after having the first 2 shows be the best ones since Matt Smith took over I was thinking maybe I would like this season (I hated the last 2 as a whole), except the doctor hiding in a woman's dress bottom. That is not true to the doctor. He has always been safe, neutral, etc. Tennant kinda pushed it some... but I really don't like the direction they are taking with Matt Smith.

I am still having mixed feelings, but feel the writing so far this season has been a huge improvement. I am looking forward to the next few shows and hope the writing continues to improve and no creatures, aliens, etc. get ruined like the weeping angels did. They went from being scary and awesome to....are you kidding me?

I loved The Curse of the Black Spot. It was interesting! Amy made such an awesome and beautiful pirate. The "siren" was freaky! I was kind of sad at the end because of Rory. I really want to know what is up with Amy's pregnancy. In The Impossible Astronaut she told the Doctor she was pregnant. Then in Day of the Moon, she told him she wasn't. She never told Rory. The TARDIS scanner in Day of the Moon and The Curse of the Black Spot keeps changing from 'positive' to 'negative'.
I really want to know about the girl that regenerated.

Is anyone else thinking that the "silver eyepatch through the hatch lady" could be a Cyberman link?

Interesting. I'm hoping the eyepatch lady isn't some sort of outside observer and this is all just a simulation that Amy's in where it'll all be "just a dream" in the end.

It's too bad to see people not enjoying Moffat's run as much as I am. I hope he's in charge for quite a while.

I like Moffat on the whole.. aside from..

the doctor hiding in a woman's dress bottom. That is not true to the doctor. He has always been safe, neutral, etc. I really don't like the direction they are taking with Matt Smith.

That's typical Moffat, throwing in some out of context / style "zing" that has nothing to do with anything other than to catch you off guard. :unsure

Seriously, does everyone here watch this show drunk, or something? Of course it was out-of-character, as he was running through time doing ridiculous, out-of-character things. "It's like he's being deliberately ridiculous, trying to catch our attention," says Amy.

They did miss a bet to put this in, though:

YouTube - proof that Dr Who is a real time traveller!
