So does anyone think Moffat's working on a plan now for the "12 regeneration limit" problem or is he going to put that off until he's casting Thirteen in three years?

I thought they fixed that with River giving the Doctor all her remaining regenerations from Let's Kill Hitler. They didn't exactly say how many she had, but yeah..

That was her third, I think, that we saw anyway.

It just occurred to me that this will be the first time I've ever "lost" a Doctor. By the time I started watching it, Smith had already taken over the role, so I knew how long both Eccelston and Tennant had.

Have they announced the role in the past, or has it come as a surprise to those watching? They kept the John Hurt thing under wraps.
