Actually, if you look through the Doctor Who Galleries on the official BBC web site, you'll find images of that observatory from "Tooth and Claw", and yes; it really does look identical to the TARDIS' observatory. (If someone is a "rivet counter" they might pour over both images with a magnifying lens and find a few CGI alterations to them, but to the regular observer they are the same.)I was thinking the same thing about the Clara reading the book she shouldn't have been able to. So I guess the TARDIS wanted her to read it.
This explanation can be very convoluted. The "Big Friendly Button" came back to the Doctor from a future where the brothers were merged, and fell/"melted" into the Eye of Harmony. They became part of the TARDIS (which as she said in "The Doctor's Wife" - 'I exist across all of Time and Space...'), whereas that didn't happen to Clara and she was still her old self. So when that Big Friendly Button reset things, the brothers could have possibly kept a little 'spark' - for that time they were part of the TARDIS and therefor also 'existed across all of Time and Space' - after they were "snapped" back to that point in time just as the TARDIS escaped the magna-grab (especially if it was a strong spark as in the guilt the "dickish" brother felt as he cut his little brother free from the pipe). Clara, on the other hand, not being a part of the TARDIS when that happened, didn't exist across all of Time and Space, and had no memories of those events as, for her, they hadn't happened yet (and never would)....Also, the dickish brother, how would he remember to not treat his little brother so badly? And if he can remember that, why doesn't Clara remember what she read? Just .. poor writing. Could have been executed better.
Maybe she'll grow on me, but as of now, I'm just feeling like it's Mel all over again! So in that respect, I guess it's more like classic Who, which could be called good.....
Did anyone else think that the observatory in the TARDIS was reminiscent/the same as Torchwood Estate from Tooth and Claw?
Seriously? Martha started off, as "Ooh I'm in love with the Doctor" then got puppy eyes for every story after. The most interesting thing about her was her family, and even then, Donna's was more interesting/funny.Donna was a much more interesting character than Clara, so was Martha,
Can someone explain to what the big, friendly, reset button actually did? I mean, yeah, cool meta gag, but how did it work?
I halfway wonder if the Magna-Grab wasn't an attempt to explain why the TARDIS exploded back in season/series 5.

Ideas for next companion:
- Not from modern day
- Not met the Doctor as a child
- Not important to saving the universe/time/everything
- Not flirting/in love with the Doctor
I liked Journey. Maybe not the episode I would have written but it was fun. The android thing seemed tacked on like it was an idea from some other episode. Man, I hope they do explain the TARDIS exploding but I've sort of let that one go.
I say "boo" to this:
The new issue of Doctor Who Magazine (#460) which is released tomorrow reveals that David Tennant is the only past Doctor who will be appearing in the 50th Anniversary Special.
The magazine also confirms that Christopher Eccleston was approached to take part, but he will not be appearing.
Show boss Steven Moffat says of the special episode that will see David Tennant and Matt Smith join forces "We can't make this all about looking backward..."
Other cast confirmed for the episode include Jenna-Louise Coleman, Billie Piper, Joanna Page and John Hurt.
I think someone needs to tell them the definition of anniversary. The entire point of an anniversary is looking back on the past and seeing what you've done/accomplished.
Going with just the new guys, and just 2 since one opted not to join in, isn't celebrating the past at all.
No other serial has reached 50 years of production, period. Should have been the biggest anniversary show ever. Sticking in a theater and doing 3D - big whoop.
