New Doctor Who Series Discussion *Spoilers*

That article is total garbage I'm afraid. If the dates are to be believed Rory was 45 when they were sent back.

Well, the Doctor did take a decade-plus away from the Ponds, no?

Just because Arthur doesn't look the part of a 45-year-old might not mean that wasn't the intention.

Agreed. And plus, who cares? They could have said anything in '63. I like the article. It makes me feel good in the chestal region.

When he first took them they were clearly young, early twenties likely. (As a matter of fact I think Amy lists off the years early on) Therefore even if the Doctor took 10 years that would make Rory in his early to mid 30's.

I dunno. I just don't like the whole "all companions do great things" aspect. They would have had to keep a low profile. Not a fan of the article.

They clearly used 1963 just because that's when Who Started.

Jeez dude. Redone to be more to your liking, Captain Bringdown. :)

Um, if they adopted a young black girl named Melody, in NEW YORK, how did she grow up with Amy and Rory in the UK?

Didn't quite think that one all the way through! :lol

Well, considering she was a toddler in 1970"s New York and was an 11 year old in around 1999 I think all bets are off.

Considering her memory was wiped so many times it's possible she was taken from the Ponds at some point after they find her. And they realize that they would have to let her go in order to keep the chain of events from breaking so Amy's happy tone in the final foreward to the Doctor still makes sense.

After all, when Mels says "you got to raise me after all" she may have been referring to when she was a toddler as well as when she was growing up alongside Amy and Rory. So maybe they'd have had at least 9 years of raising her if we assume she was enrolled with Amy in school around the age of 11. Though then maybe her memories of being raised were not wiped after all.

I did think it all the way through. Mostly because it's a slow day at work

What, you mean like this?

I had actually tried another image generator that allowed me to write a full fake article, but for some reason it wouldn't go through and I lost the entire fake article. Oh well, this will have to do.

Ha! Nice. From here on in when someone doesn't like something we have to make them a newspaper. :lol

It's the new meme!

Clearly! :lol

I dunno. Just sounds really contrived to me, kind of a "no way that would happen" kind of thing. One would guess that River would visit but she's almost over herself now it seems.

Definitely contrived. But always a possible explanation.

Actually, I was thinking about the whole "i'll never be able to see you again thing" with Amy and the Doctor. It really makes no sense. As long as they are buried in the same grave in the future there's no reason why the Doctor can't ask them to meet him somewhere outside New York at any point in their lives and take them for more adventures.

After all, he didn't read anything in the book that says they were stuck in the past. He could pick them up at a slightly later point in New York's history and drop them back home. Then drop them off back in time when they reach old age in the future and have them buried there.

Man, it's a slow day in the office!
