I didn't see this posted to the board but I thought it might be of interest to the crew here...

In honor of ILM's 35th anniversary, on November 12, 2010 at 9PM ET/PT Encore will air "Industrial Light & Magic Creating the Impossible." The doc is directed by Leslie Iwerks (The Pixar Story) and features interviews with: Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, J.J. Abrams, Jon Favreau, Ron Howard, Robin Williams, Dennis Muren, Richard Edlund, John Lasseter, Jim Morris, Ben Snow, Ed Catmull, Samuel L. Jackson, Tim Alexander, and David Nakabayashi.

It's not the holy grail documentary that I hope one day will be produced about the company but there's some good stuff in it and overall it's a good look at the legendary FX house even if it skews more to the later 15 years rather than the earlier years -- Fear not though, there's a fair amount of coverage of Ep. IV - VI. I wish the film were an hour longer however, obviously an hour is not enough to cover the company's 35-year/nearly 300 film history.

In any case - set your DVRs...
