New costume suggestions required please

i have intentions of doing the Pinball Wizard for halloween next year - i'll be upping my height about 6 inches (so it's still a reasonable costume). I have yet to figure out the logistics of the stilts. :p

Sorry that you didn't get it across the pond! It was a great cartoon. Voices of Keith David, Johnathan Frakes, Brent Spiner, Marshall's dad from How I Met Your Mother-and the girl who played the latina cop actually looks exactly like her(check out Lowdown Dirty Shame to see)! Anyway, here is a pic of some of the cast all together-it might be a good idea for you:)

If you're really short you could consider Master Blaster from Mad Max. You'll just need to try to find a tall assistant for that one.

Seriously though you could look at doing Iron Monger. Chimmera30 did a pretty cool build.

You could take that and do maybe Crimson Dynamo or Titanium Man as alternatives. Can't remember seeing anyone tackle either of them. Your size could even have an advantage in say something like a Dalek .

opitmus prime! if you look at him he'd be perfect for stilts. i did a cardboard build of the toarso and hes really not that hard to make, aside from the helmet.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Just to clear things up, it needs to be a costume of a standard good enough to troop with the Reel Icons section of the 501st UKG :D

I'm only 5'8" tall, but I always wanted to have a Darth Vader costume.

I used inner lifts and while I'll never be as tall as Vader himself I'm 6'5" in my costume. I never wanted elevator shoes, I started with inner lifts I bought online but I recently made my own by layering and shaping plywood.

My boots, inner lifts inside:

This is picture I set-up really quickly at home. Camera in on a tripod in the exact same location for both shots. On the left, me in costume, the right is me barefoot in the same spot standing at my 5'8" height.

Here is a pic of me from SDCC next to some 'regular' height guys:

If you want to do stilts, a Jack Skelington costume would be sick. Unless of course you're just hell bent on a sci fi costume in which case I say go for a Chewbacca or Tarful costume... or a Wampa... But I just love Star Wars so, maybe don't listen to me. lol

I can't believe I didn't think of this the other day. It would let you go pretty tall with the stilts and the cost won't be too bad since you could make the majority of the build out of paper mache. Treebeard. I've been on a big Tolkien kick lately so you'd think it would be the first thing I thought of. What works really well is you can go pretty tall with the stilts and pretty wide with the base area of the feet so it takes care of some of the issues in regards to balance.

Of course another cool character you could do using stilts would be Darkness from Legend. There's also Ludo or the Goblin mechanical guard from Labyrinth.
