New BMF coming

I've got one you don't have! :)

Its the Puzz3D Falcon. Whats so cool about it is the fact they used photos of the 5 footer from every angle at high res so every detail is there including all the caution decals they used!

Wrongo. I have it. Just forgot. :) Been at my mother's place for about ten years. She is really into puzzles but has not gotten to the Falcon yet.

Still waiting on parts...its going to be awhile

What? You are missing the fantasy flight falcon?

You are correct. I will need to take care of that ASAP.

I also had the large and small pewter ones but sold them. Probably won't replace those.

Tony,

Will the resin cockpit cone have the windows out or will we have to remove them??

Honestly if we have to remove them I think I'll spend the extra on the Shapeways one to avoid it.

If anything it will just have a thin layer of flash that can easily be trimmed with a no. 11 blade.

Waaaaaaait a second....I've got one in pieces in the computer room...right...now (the gunwell assembly never, ever, never never never goes together for me). All of the decals you say? You mean those decals that are no longer available from anyone? In hires? Say, lemme fire up the scanner....

I thought the cockpit and gunwells were the only parts not being included in the resin run?

Just got my BMF yesterday at Wally World. Paid $50 for it, and got it home only to discover the top quad cannon and radar dish were missing :( Oh well, I discovered Tony's shapeways parts thanks to this thread and have now spent an additional $360 on this project! Hey, I am stoked that this Toy is going to become worthy of being called a model thanks to all you guys! I was originally just going to do a little weathering and hang it up with an X-Wing, but well you know how that goes. The stuff that drove me nuts and just HAD to be fixed (Stickers for the sidewalls? REALLY?) had me searching out all the detail shots I could find and led me to this thread.

I took a gamble last night and ordered the entire light/sound harness that had been removed from a 2008 Hasbro Falcon on ebay for $18. I don't know if the engine light unit will fit directly or not, but we'll see. I'm not interested in the sounds at all, just the lights. I'll let you know when it arrives if this is a decent option for the engine area. As far as I know, the 2008 version and this version are about the same size. Here's hoping!

Thanks for all the great parts Tony! And thanks to all who are contributing to making this an affordable but awesome Falcon!

Many thanks for your support Woody!!!

This toy will become a great high detailed Falcon!!!!

I don't know it. Mike is the caster master. He has the answer...

I thought the cockpit and gunwells were the only parts not being included in the resin run?

Right! Because they've pre drilled tiny holes for the fiber optics. More than 150 holes on the cockpit walls and 50 on the gun well.

Yes,

I was talking about the cone, the windows.

If it's just flash that's no problem but if it's heavy cutting I'll just go the shapeways route.

Ah, I had assumed the cone was not being done either actually. Oh, and just if anyone was curious, it looks like the Puzz3D Falcon will not yield any of the decals after all. Looking at it actually, I have a feeling they may have done a photo survey of the 5 footer, and then rotoscoped over that to get a clean version for the puzzle; it has a very...painterly look to it on close inspection, and all of the complex decals are either missing or have been simplified to red or yellow hash-marks.

Any one ever going to actually paint one of these mothers (besides CB)...?

Hi..... ImageUploadedByTapatalk1419818081.881051.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1419818099.248118.jpg

Love this odd little project. 'Flew' on through the door and up the stairs to show off to my wife. She teared up, and said, "Well, you should go open your present!"

I haven't done anything huge, and tried some experimental stuff following the work of others; adding detail to the wells, cutting out the undercuts, cutting out pipe, etc. one thing I did do differently, is I took out the radar dish mount and took away some bits of armor to give it a more bashed in look. Other than that, and gouging out the scorch marks, I'll let the paint do the rest!!

Hi, I got a few of these when they first came out. Here is my first attempt at airbrushing. I know that it is not perfect and I am waiting for Mike Salzos resin pieces to finish off this piece.
Tell me what you think of my first attempt.mill1.jpgmill2.jpg
I did some of the basics. I am not finished . I need to put a lot of damage on this. On my next one I am going to do the gunports with the Shapeways pieces.

Wow!!!

Many thanks for sharing!!

Great details!!!

Is that a matt painting behind the Falcon? No CGI background?

It is CGI as stated in the article from Forbes.

As for the cover shot, Yannick Dusseault, visual effects art director for The Force Awakens, and his team gave Fortune six options showing the Falcon in different ways. The resulting image required the custom rendering of ILM’s computer generated Falcon. According to ILM, the fabled ship was rendered in wireframe form (a skeletal version) as well as a more layered “textured render,” which were combined in Photoshop to create the final image.

Guys!

Please, all of you that bought a Hasbro Cabin Cone, please, PM me!!!

Thanks
