New big-screen Star Wars Rey movie announced at SW Celebration 2023

Knowing Disney, the Rey movie will probably wind up with her trying to find Grogu (Now grown) so that the two of them can rebuild the Jedi Academy.

She finds him but The New Knights of Ren are rebuilding Palpatine’s secret fleet to launch an all out war against both The Republic and the scraps of The First Order.

They have to now quickly assemble a rag tag fleet of Jedi to go up against them and defeat them before the Galaxy is tossed into chaos.

Three movies will cover this arc. And fortunately for the Jedi team, Grogu discovers that Mace Windu is still alive, and bitter. But they talk him into joining their merry band. This is how the first movie will end.

I know Iger’s reading this. Let’s talk.

All good, but I will tell you this…if I am denied the sight of heroes on space horsies running across the hull of a capital ship, in the new Rey film, I will be very put out, indeed.

Seriously, I didn’t like The Acolyte past episode 2. I stopped watching it about 8 minutes into episode 3. So you know what I did, I didn’t post in the thread. I’ll let those who enjoyed it. Talk about how much they enjoyed it. And I didn’t tell them they were stupid because they liked it.

On 'The Acolyte' I largely agree with you.

But the ST was a big Star Wars trilogy that everybody watched. Buford T. Justice is gonna have an opinion about it.

First of all, i didn't see anyone say anyone else was stupid for liking it. That's just false. Secondly, people who liked it had every opportunity to talk about it. If they didn't, it wasn't because they "felt" they couldn't...they CHOSE not too. Everyone has a right to express their opinion or keep silent..it's a choice. Any narrative outside of this is just meant to provoke and gaslight and claim victimization. You expressed your viewpoint, i've expressed mine. Period.

I enjoyed TFA on the surface as a "return to form" (although, arguably a bit too much of a "return"...). I love TLJ for reasons I've stated here. TROS was a great rollercoster ride and a garbage story.

I have to say, overall, that I agree the cast was fantastic, production design was awesome the whole way through, and the real problem was a mix of story and direction. There's only so much you can elevate material. This is also true with the PT, really. Like, Hayden Christensen is a talented actor who had...uh...not good material and probably "Faster. More intense" direction. And, of course, there's always the fact that there's nobody around to "save it in the edit" for either of these trilogies.

I would hope that future entries would be more focused, would prioritize a single, coherent story, would go in WITH A FULL PLAN, and then would provide material to let these stars shine. They're all really talented. Let 'em show it.

That's what really irks me. The ST had a rock solid cast of talented young actors, yet they were given "less than" to work with, and wasted.
I totally agree, which is what most of are saying...it lacked depth, creativity...a great story...so yeah, but it didn't just stop there. They had to deconstruct what had previously been done with the legacy characters which, to me, was the worst part of it.
I sort of enjoy the irony that people complain about bashing the ST yet are totally ok with the fact they deconstructed the OT characters and legacy within the movie itself and just outright crapped on the main story of the OT as if it never happened .( Somehow...Palpatine Returned...lol) I never get tired of laughing at that.

Not to mention the ST didn’t have a clear direction for all 3 movies when they began.

They hired JJ who loves SW, but only produced one movie.

Then Johnson came in for the second, with no clear direction other than to remake TESB with Luke as Yoda and Rey as Luke.

Then JJ comes back and tries to somehow tie it all together.

If JJ had been in charge of all three and had a solid outline in mind from the beginning, it would have been more coherent and better.

Other than Disney saying, “We own Star Wars now, you’ve got 21 mo this to get a movie in the theaters!”

Yes...Disney knew what they were doing all along. They knew no matter what they did with TFA they were going to get their money's worth on just sheer curiosity...of how the OT characters would be treated. They could have put Teek and Jar Jar as the Protagonist and Villian, as long as Fisher, Ford and Hamill were in, it would sell...Jar Jar Abrams.. lol, I don't know why I never thought of that before.. lol...anyways....wasting my breath.

Just give me Andor season two and then I can walk away.
Just so you know i wasn't laughing at you...it's just the way you wrote that, that made me laugh. lol

I had really high hopes for The Mandalorian...I thought season 1 felt like Star Wars to me more than the other stuff. Ando, in my opinion, is better written for sure but i just am not invested in the characters at all. I can totally understand why people like it though. It has a really serious tone.
