Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

WOW! It took guts to carve up a Vader helmet like that. Nice job!:love

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

really great job, might have a go myself, good to see something a bit different

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

Very different and very cool...well done!

Was Luke's right eye blown out in ESB? I can't remember....regardless, nice touch!

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

Vadermonkey,

This totally has a "I stole this off the set" look. What an incredible effort! :thumbsup

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

Thanks guys!

To answer your question Kev, the make up head LFL made didnt have the eye blown out....I just took an artistic license since I cant display it with smoke coming out of it and so I wanted something to fill the space.

In the scene however they buried Mark Hamill and so that is his actual face you see when the smoke clears.

Have you considered a mist maker? You provide some water and the device turns it into mist. You'd have to figure out how to establish a reservoir of water within the prop and where to put the wires leading up to the mist maker. The mist maker is a tiny disc about the size of a dollar coin.

That is a frikkin' cool idea!

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

I dont want to do anything that will harm this display (moisture) but thanks for the idea. :)

Here are the last couple of shots.... I am happy to call this baby done.

And the head just for grins....I like the paintjob so much that I regret blowing the eye out....oh well. I had to trim the hair in back as it was visible with the helmet on.:angel

I'd like to also just mention Vadermania and thank him for letting me have my way with some spare TM stuff that I was fortunate enough to have become available....also JoeR for selling me his master MH face cast so that I could finally start on this project.

I am very grateful for the support of my crazy schemes. :)

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Cool to know that it is a TM I made, that you made it from. That´s why it looks so authentic :cool (kidding)

You deserve it. And you did the best out of it. Such a cool idea and execution.

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

Great pics. You did a fantastic job Mike and the paintjob looks awesome:love:thumbsup

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

I don't think I would regret the eye blowout...it gives it a definite creep factor. I really dig that helmet.

Re: NEVER BEFORE SEEN Vader Helmet!!! (pic heavy)

Beautiful work Mike! Love the finishing touches. The helmet looks pretty cool on it's own like that too.
