Netflix Recommendations Thread

Cypher
I can't believe this movie isn't more popular. Reminds me of Blade Runner crossed with Paycheck. Maybe toss in a little 13th Floor.

Huh, read this, thought it sounded interesting, and tried to watch it last night. Couldn't find it anywhere on Netflix.

Try searching for it again. I just did and its there. I bet you will like it.

Synopsis:
Bored with his suburban life, Morgan (Jeremy Northam) enters the world of corporate espionage, spying on rival corporations for Digicorp. It's all very exciting until he realizes he's being used as a pawn in the war between Digicorp and rival Sunways. Lucy Liu co-stars as a femme fatale who might be able to help him get out of the situation alive in this tense drama, which won the Grand Jury Prize for Fantasy at the 2003 Fantasporo Film Festival.

Huh, I must have misspelled it while searching for it or something. I'll try again this evening.

i don't know if this has already been mentioned but i must suggest a japanese film called departures. or Okuribito. i don't know if it is on netflix but if it is you all must watch it. it's beautiful, heart-wrenching, funny and just brilliant! i cannot recommend it enough. the soundtrack is also absolutely fantastic. i'm a guy and i wept like a little girl...

With all the Star Wars news and talk, I decided to rewatch "The People vs. George Lucas". It just a great documentary, regardless of how you feel about Star Wars.

+1 for "Cypher". Just finished it. Awesome movie...thanks for the recommendation. Loved it. Now...where to get a replica prop of that helicopter....anybody know any prop forums? ;p

dunno if its on netflix, but "Robot and Frank" is great, it just came out last year, and i had never even heard of it before, especially since its got quite a few big name actors in it

Safety Not Guaranteed
I'll second both of those, I rented Robot & Frank from Redbox (DVD only, it has not yet been released on Blu-Ray :() because it'll be awhile before it comes to Netflix streaming. It's a surprisingly touching little film. :)

Just finished Freaks and Geeks....God what a great show!

Just watched this after a lot of recommendations. What am I missing? All I saw was a girl go from a good egg and A student to a drugged out hippie who ends up running away for a summer. Maybe this show just wasn't for me, but I saw nothing of value in it.
