Nerf Aliens Pulse Rifle Build

Hi guys

I wasn't that happy with a 1w amp/speaker setup as I thought it might be a bit on the quiet side, so after a bit of hunting around and spec checking, I have a fairly well mached set:

3.5w amp (4-12v supply)

Kemo M031N 3.5 W amplifier module from Conrad Electronic UK

VECO Full Range Mini Speaker, 8OHM, 3W, 100hz to 20KHz, 40mm x 18mm, 85dB Hz KHz

I have ordered both, so once they are connected, I'll let you guys know how it sounds :thumbsup

Wired up the FX module last night and gave it a test drive, gotta say, Majenko did a fantastic job with these :D

(that's a reed switch and rare earth magnet acting as the mag switch you can see next to the module)

Got home after doing a spot of overtime to find the 18 dart clips I bought on ebay were waiting for me :)

Just the amp and speaker left to arrive and I'll have all the parts at hand :thumbsup

Got a bit to do till then, so I'm going to get back to it, hope to have some updates soon.

Hello All,

Here's an update on my Pulse Rifle - pretty much got the build nailed.

I've stripped it down to show all the components.

I've still got to do some painting around the ammo counter, tidy up the paint a bit and weather it.

I've gone as close to the Brown Bess version as I could find paint wise - Revell Nato-Olive Matt - No. 36146

I've also got a surprise add, unlike any pulse rifle seen to-date! (more on that later)

Hope you like!

Wow Love it! Can't wait to finish mine now..:behave

Progress: (Literally, only worked 20 minutes on it)

  • Trimmed stock down and grinded the Nerf N-Force logo.
  • Sanded the logo and the surfaces grinded with 400 Grit
  • Split the front section of the gun because there's little to do on the gun body.
  • Took gutts out of front and started marking for cuts.
  • Nothing complex noted.
  • Construction Note: The cutting disc worked better to smooth surfaces and prepare them for sanding.

who said inbuilt motion tracker?

That was me, do I get a prize? :lol

Gotta say, that is a rockin idea, is it a static display?

*edit* after a closer look... Is that a modded GPS (Navman perhaps)?.

Hi Canobi,

Its a functioning motion detector Ipod / Iphone App:
Aliens Motion Tracker iPhone/Android application - YouTube

The case is scratch built from styrene/sintra, same as the gun.

The attachment to the gun was the hard part to find as it's hinged to fold in and able to hold the weight of the unit.

Its actually the top from a mini tripod available at £1 stores in UK.

I'm working on a display base currently and once done I'll be posting lots of pictures.
