Nemesis Admirals Uniform

Got Maul, I sent you an email....

Well suffice it to say, I will not be offering these...I will however see if I can work
with Joe@ Anovos.

LOL- No problem; let's talk offline about your fabric sources. Looks good!

Try "International Silk and Woolen" I can't remember the exact address, but they're near LA/ Burbank, and they've supplied at least some fabrics to Paramount, and I believe they usually stock the heavy wool elastique for both the monster maroons and the FC/ Insurrection style uniforms. (you may have to custom dye it though)

Good luck!

-Sarge

I prefer not to say in public where I got the fabric, out of respect for Anovos in the event that this fabric is correct. I can tell you that this is a list of movies and people they have supplied fabric to or made tailored clothing for. As you can see, it is an impressive list. The moment I told them what I was making, I was directed towards the rear of the building and shown the fabric I ended up buying.
It is very heavy, VERY wrinkle resistant and very luxurious to the touch.

They unfortunately do not carry the same fabric anymore.... they have a similar elastique, but it just isn't quite the same!

Interest threads in any section other than the JY are a no-no. Endeav, please familiarize yourself with the CoC.

OOps.

Sorry.

I mistakenly thought the JY was for sales and want to buy threads.

Mine was more to gauge interest and get feedback on what I have so far.

I know for future threads...thanks.

Nearly everything produced on this forum treads on a licensee's territory.
I think there's room enough for everyone.

:confused
Wait....is that a suggestion to continue to get interest to make a run on these even though we just stated Jose has the license??? If that's what you are saying then thanks for ******** on a fellow member of the community and his new company! WTH? If not, then what do you mean?

There are currently licenses that I know of for:

Star Wars
Star Trek
Muppets
BSG
Terminator
Disney

..and those are just the ones I can come up with off the top of my head.

Are you suggesting that since the majority of marketable properties currently have businesses licensing their IP, that ABSOLUTELY NO non-replica costumes or props be made of these properties? Even stuff that there isn't likely going to be a licensed market for?

This is especially true given that almost all of the licensees (or employees who have a huge say in development) are members here.

I'm not saying that there should be unfair competition from those who haven't ponied up for a license, but at some point you aren't doing the licensees any favors by refusing to market things they probably would never break even on after paying fees.

Guys, the RPF will always be the grey zone. We knew this going in, we knew this going forward. All arguments are legitimate in my opinion and is what 1. created the RPF, 2. Is what created a some of us licensees (like me!) ... so its a crazy circle that I respect and love

Look, you all know what the consequences are as much as I did back in the day and there's no need to rehash that argument...again..again...and again. If you think having a licensee on here is new, then think again. If you think the studios aren't on here, you're horribly mistaken. Nothing really new here , you all know that.

So no need to fight over this topic especially over something that has been taken up over and over again.

I'm saying a few uniforms made by the guy's mother-in-law aren't a big deal. They're not even the same uniforms currently planned by the new licensee. Plenty of people buy unlicensed costumes or props even though there's a current licensee (many of whom are board members).

There are a lot of new people around here lately (including the thread starter) and they're absorbing lots of new "rules" thrown at them by the old timers. There's no need to squash people's creativity or desire to make whatever they want. Anovos wouldn't even exist if that attitude prevailed.

Read my last post, pretty much sums it up.

Carry on, carry on.
