need help with war machine foam helmet build

i have a faom template im usng except one piece is giving me a headache can anyone help with what to do i would like it to be a sold piece with no cuts... so what do i do here is the page i got it from

Cut the lines at a sharper angle than what is shown on the paper. You basically have to a v shape that goes as deep as those lines do, but make sure it comes together at a point, and not a flat part like the picture.

So then do I join the cuts and cut a new piece the same shape minus the cuts?
