Hello, so i figured i would join up and add a pic or 2 of my work thus far on a Wolverine EVA helmet. based using propways template from youtube.
now before im sure ill get roasted for my technique. i am the first to over criticize my work. and while not excuses for bad workmanship i will offer explainations of why things dont look as neat as i wished them to be.. (mostly due to inexperience and impatience on my part )
first the blades i used to cut were not really sharp, (and my attempts to sharpen them didnt work) making some jagged cuts on the edges. i also didnt have any contact cement so i used hot glue leading to messy seams. but i hope that i can smooth all this out .. im currently up to applying layers of mod podge to give it some strength then i will spray with plasidip and smooth sand till it at least looks presentable. again being my first full(ish) helmet im ok with the mistakes as they hopfully are a start of learning what do and what not to do..
before this i have done a few pepakura helmets. but honestly the only ones i ever finished were a scorpion for myself and subzero and another earlier scorpion mask for the love of my life. (no longer together) but i digress. the rest are in various states of progress, including Ironman, a biker scout, a space marine from warhammer 40k a full 89 batman cowl, reaper from overwatch, and the phantoms mask, from phantom of the paradise.
anyway thats enough of my rambling...
Prefilling.
Post filling and adding a layer of modpodge.
