Need help with Cylon helmet.

I am thinking about having a go at my cylon helmet kit, but I am unsure of how I am supose to look out of it. did the actors look out from a little slit under or above the scanning lights, or did they look out of the vent holes above the eye rim.
any help would be great, thanks.

Little slit under the scanning light. I keep getting tempted to try and build a Cylon suit, so far all I've made is the helmet from the site bazookajoe.me.uk

I was thinking of doing the little slit, but that goes against everything I have seen and read about the holes above the eyes.
this article talks about the vent holes being where the actors would look out.

That could be why they fell into each other during recording.

i did mine with a slit below the leds, its a very limited field of view, but it works and unless someone looks very very closely they cant see your eyes

Mine is done with a slit below as otherwise you have to keep angling your head down and this wrecks the shoulder pack.

I have a screen worn helmet and it only has the small holes above the eye scanner
