Hi

I just received my hf Lewis gun and want to add the final touches to convert it into the blaster we´ve seen on screen.

What do you guys use for the ribbed section?
What sling would be accurate (fabric, leather...)?

All info is appreciated, thanks in advance :)

Yeah let's have the info please :)

Let's get some slings manufactured too. Anyone got detailed pictures of the sling?

I have a HF Lewis and I got some black rubber tubing/hose (not gardon hose, this is like lightweight shiny black tubing about 1/2" wide) from the lawn irrigation section of the hardware store. I screwed one end of the tube into the Lewis (the underside so it's less conspicuous) then I wrapped it several times and screwed the other end of the tubing to the gun the same way. Make sense?

On the sling, as much as I'd rather use leather, I believe a khaki colored web sling is accurate (like a Boy Scout belt material).

Ah so you used a length thin tubing rather than a thick single piece of ribbed tubing.

Anyone got an ID for the sling?

looks like a green canvas, bren machine gun sling without the metal hooks on the end, judging by the ribs that are on the edge of the sling and the metallic buckle. The bren was used in WW2 by Commonwealth countries....Australia, Canada and the UK.
Hope this helps.

I used green canvas for the sling, got sling swivels from Dicks\'s for the stock and riveted the other. I used fuel line with wood dowels holding them together. Some of our guys used corrugated drain pipe and zip ties
