Holy crud, I am seeing them go on ebay for $600 and a Buy it now auction for $1000 and here I am looking for one for my office buddy thinking they'd sell for $20 more or something. Is 5000 pieces really that limited? Jeyl, where did you order yours? If it shows processing on thinkgeek, you should be ok. They do not ship their orders daily from what I'm aware so it shouldn't be a problem.

thinkgeek usually has their stuff down pretty well. The orders just came up for Friday so I doubt they'll be able to mark any orders "shipped" unless you had down 1 day shipping or something. I imagine if buyers on thinkgeek do not see an update within the next day or two, that'll spell trouble.
As far as I know, I haven't heard of any sites or stores being short shipped. I've seen a few site and video reviews of private buyers reviewing them and see at least 1 full page of them on ebay so it seems people are getting them.

I just received mine! No pictures of me holding it yet, but it is very nice! I need to get some batteries for it still. I weighed it--3 lbs 5 oz, enough that you wouldn't want to hold it at arm's length for any amount of time (plus it really is big). I like the switch, which is at your thumb, combined with the trigger--I'm going to go get some batteries now so I can see how it looks/sounds!

Yeah I just saw they are offering another 5000 of peabodys version. This is one of those cases were I don't blame them for making more because the asking price on ebay is redonk. They are smart to offer a different version as well it keeps everyone happy-ish.

Here are a few pics =) Great piece, especially for the price. It's a little light because it's all plastic and also doesnt sit right on a hard surface (mine rests on one of the black teeth things, so it's probably not a great idea to rest it flat without propping the front up a little). The lights are great (blue is much brighter than the orange), and the sound is much louder than I expected, so that's a major plus. <3

That is a beautiful piece! Especially for the price. Mine is supposed to be here tomorrow after UPS put a "delayed due to uncontrollable catastrophe" or something in the status box. While I agree that the yellow striped version will appease some, I've seen some comments and even some of my friends (one of them hangs his Portal 2 work posters in his office) are sorely disappointed in the release of a striped version and change of color. The orange and red are much to similar when compared to the originals red and blue.
*I actually only started to play Portal last night and finished it in one sitting, fantastic game and more reason to love the design of the prop. Now on to Portal 2.

You're in for a treat. Portal 2 is my favorite game of all time. Love it so much!

This really pisses me off. I love the idea that they produced a lisenced replica with a retail of $140. For that price however, they shouldn't have made the first wave at 5,000! Look what happened on EBay! They are all over trying to sell them as soon as they arrived for triple even quadruple the retail price. This is sad and angers me, to top it off, they have been saying that they were allowing more then one order per person.
The P-body edition is going to just be a repeat of this, maybe even worse, cause its a specific version. They need to either raise the price per unit or do away with the production limit.
