NCIS Abby's Caf-POW cup

^ It looked like a bendy straw to me, but upon reviewing screencaps from other episodes on the web, maybe it was just a straight straw.

Probably easier to source if the case.

I mentioned to my wife to save the next episode and when we talked about it, she said it was a bendy straw, but had not seen it bent.

My first cup is done, now how to paint the lid.

By the way, if you got the label, follow the directions in the sale thread and all is easy.

Thanks for making this happen, my Bert Hippo is much happier with his Caf-Pow

FYI, my local 7-11 has also changed to clear cups, my wife went to one over where she was at lunch today and got the very last cups that were white. So, if you're on the fence about it, you should probably see about getting your cups sooner rather than later.

Everybody that asked me for cups, I have them now. + added -> I have some extras.

I thought I would post these just because I could. The lids aren't painted and they need straws, but still it shows how nice the cups turn out

Ok, I have watched several episodes yesterday on the DVR looking at the Caf-POW Lid. It is not the shape of the lids I have. It appears to be a more rigid red plastic, like you see on some restaurant kiddie cups, only much larger. Any ideas for a source?

yeah it looks like a hard plastic lid , not sure of the source , I have been looking for awhile too.

That size 7-11 cup used to use a hard red plastic lid. Very high quality. I have not seen one in a while.

I do believe that RaceTrack stores use the solid red lid. But then again, it's been a while since I last been at one so I can't confirm it.

I don't know if this will help, but if you end up buying one of the new 7-11 clear cups, why can't you use Krylon's plastic paint and use it on the outside of the cup to make it white? I know using it on the inside won't do much, but I figured the outside would be a better bet.

EDITED NOTE: I've come to discover that the clear cups are not the same as the old white ones, other than the plastic type, I mean. I've come to discover that the clear cups are a bit shorter and bigger in diameter in comparison to the white ones. So, please ignore my above statement about taking the clear cups and spray painting them white on the outsite.

Just to add confusion, I watched an older episode this weekend, one with Kate, and the lid was white/clear. Orange non-bendy straw.

More cup stuff.

I went by 3 more 7-11 stores this morning. All had changed to the clear cups.

Rummaging through their drink straws, I found an orange slushy spoon straw that was the same length and diameter as the red double big gulp straws. It had two longitudal narrow stripes on it, but as you can see in the photo below, they are pretty hard to see, and would even be more difficult to see on TV. I think I'll use this as my stand in straw until something better comes along.

I also got a couple photos from the show last night and it sure looks to me like the lids are the same as the disposable ones you get with the drink now, except painted. The bump out on the top center and the rounded lip look the same. I noticed her cup is cracked on the top right.

Be careful painting the lids. Krylon Banner Red can eat the lid faster than one might think. I was trying to see if the lids would look better if the paint was on the inside of the lid. The paint pooled in one area (because I was impatient) and ate the lid.

Here is a pic of the cup with a painted lid.

I screwed up the other one and the third is cracked. If any of you can help me get two more lids that would be great. I also need to find some straws.

My labels arrived this morning and they look absolutely superb!! I did get in a bit of a state trying to stick it on the cup, but it came out alright in the end. I've not painted my lid yet, but here's how it looks ...
