Limited Run Nazgul Gauntlets - comfortable for long convention-days

Hey everybody!

Just a quick note:
I've been busy on the Gaunts for the last weeks (on and off) and have all yet manufactured parts trimmed, drilled, sanded, bubbles filled, sanded again, and basecoat-rust painted.
They are basically ready to assemble.
I'll have to be in my workshop the next days (babysitting my 3D-Printer for another project) and hopefully get these guys ready.

These are just the words...pics will follow!

hi, yes, I'm sorry. There is so much going on right now (good things ;-) )
On behalf of the gauntlets:
I have prepared all parts to be assembled (all plates, leather strips and already sewed all fingerplates onto strips as well)
I'm hardly at home at my PC, and I usually edit the pictures before upload (for quality and file-size). That's why I missed out on that part, so far.

This weekend, I just took mine out of their box again, to give the leather straps and gloves some treatment with leather grease, I think for other buyers this is a good thing to do. The straps will become "hard" otherwise... With some grease / wax the stay nice...

Just out of curiousity: am I the only one who got a finished pair of gloves at this moment, or are there others that also received their pair already?

Hey everyone, sorry, I guess I already got myself some reputation of not being that regular in posting updates :-(
It's not intentional and I'm sorry that you guys suffer from it.

Here's an impression of how I sewed the fingerplates... there is nothing better than workin in the right atmosphere ;-)

I shipped 2 finished pairs and 2 kits, so far.
The next (and probably last) 2 finished pairs will need to be assembled and then shipped.

Well, here are the last pics of finishing the Sets:

All sets are riveted together. The fingerflates have not yet been pre-rusted as the other plates, so they still look plain grey.

I then use two tiny drops of superglue to temporarily fix the leatherstraps to the gauntlets. This helps keeping the alignment right during sewing.
Sewing is done by hand at 16 places for each hand (at the tip and two sides of each finger plus one extra spot on the thumb-strap).


The weathering is done in several passes. Rust-brown, light-sand-brown and other brownish dirt colors and a finishing with watered-down black. Using steel wool in between passes to clean up a bit of the sheen on the top spots.


And here are the two sets which will be sent out to you guys! :-D
I only painted weathered the two sets as I want to start live-streaming and weathering my own set would be nice to fill some time, I guess ;-)
