Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Woodlake - would you like to tackle a studio scale Landspeeder some time after you finish this? I have CAD data... and no cad. LOL.
Might have to see how this one goes first before I commit to anything else!

Thanks for the nod, Woodlake! But it's also very obvious you've taken the time to study the subject. I may end up finding some nitpicks but I can already say they are going to be very minor.
No worries. Like I said to Simon, I tried to only use the references to the original model and your drawings as the basis. I just used MB's photos for ideas on how it all goes together. Beteween your drawings and the reference photos, I'm pretty sure we are pretty close, but I do welcome any input you can give.

You see Paul.... Now your one of us.. Bwuhahaha...
Lol - yeah, I've gone to the dark side!

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

No commitment required - you'll need to see the files first, LOL! And then go screaming into the Jundland Wastes!

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

99% sure the Airfix Space Shuttle was used on the Narcissus, no surprise as hundreds were used on the Nostromo. Anyone have good clear scans of the kit parts? Especially both sides of the little thrusters that go on the SRBs and undercarriage.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Lee, I can do that tomorrow if someone doesn't beat me to it.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Anyone recognize this decal? Looks like maybe a dragon? Has a 70's US Navy tail art look to it, but the wing is kinda German SS.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

I can confirm the shuttle. I have the kitpart placed already. Also it is the Marder II. Will post pix soon.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Thanks Jedi, I think I've found it in 3 places + plus one of those is mirrored :)

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

If you have it in three places your in front of me. Please share with pix when you can. I've been a bit busy lately getting models ready for a show.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

The white Y-shaped bit in the middle is from the Airfix Shuttle.

Yep, that's the one I wanted to check. The little thrusters from the SRBs are all over it, I've spotted them in 7-8 places now. There's a pack of three. Can you check the piece as I've not seen one up close in about 20 years :)

Hey Lee

I can make you some scans of the kit tomorrow :)

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Well thanks to Darth Duck over at ResinIlluminati for finding this:

It's not the correct decal, but it implies that the one on the nose of the Narcissus came from a BF-109 kit. Maybe our old friend the Airfix 1/24th.

Anyone have a 1970's issue decal sheet from then?

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

What did the Skyhopper griffon come off of? I know I have that decal sheet scanned... but it's not accessible until Tuesday.

Re: NARCISSUS Part id help

Sweet.... Don't have the vintage airfix only the new one. I have the vintage Bandai but I doubt they would have the same markings. I do have the vintage 1/48 airfix though. Worth checking.
