Well, to the new guys credit, he was ACTUALLY trying to help with some information he considered useful. I'll take that ANY DAY over a "pics no workie" necro bump, which is the WORST kind of necro bump. Less worse is "cool", because at least they're being nice :)

I would say if anything, this thread is witness to the best kind of necro-bump possible, and I'm gonna give the guy rep points for it! His efforts should be encouraged, though slightly re-directed :D
 
I read the first post without looking at the date and clicked on the link. The very first page was of her in the outfit. Then I noticed the first post was 2007.

Nice to know she won without any of our help.
 
Yeah, but how did he possibly find it? It was 5 years down in the pile.

If someone brought it up and then he answered, fine. His other posts are mystique and X-men car phone.

This isn't cool. Women are more sensitive about their looks than guys are. She's brave enough to put herself out there, we shouldn't be slinging stones at her behind the safe anonymity of our keyboards. Granted she'll likely never see this nor care but we should show more class than that especially since the point of this thread was for Clay to get some help, not provide her as the butt of jokes.

If you can't say anything nice . . .
 
This thread is an embarrassment to the forum. You should all be genuinely ashamed of yourselves. Bullying is never OK, especially to folks who aren't even members here. Truly a sad display here. If you guys have so much free time on your hands, go build something. You are only detracting from the hobby by posting this hateful stuff.

Ask yourself, if you were a new member on this forum and saw this thread, would you EVER come back??

And people wonder why I hardly come the RPF anymore. It's like high school in here.
 
We have removed a number of disrespectful posts from this thread. Giving constructive criticism on a costume is one thing. Criticizing someone's looks, especially when it is not meant to be funny, is not what this site is about. It is rude and immature.
 
Hope warnings have been sent as well. And they should be forced to post pics of themselves for us all to critique. :angry
 
Wow-- not sure what happened here but I was surprised to see the thread here at all.
I dont kow what the bad posts were that were removed, but in the end the contest was a success, we won and it was fun. This actually got me rolling on my sculpting career more than ever so it was worth it.
 
I'm glad I missed the grade school BS but kind of wish I knew who made what comments so I knew who to put on my ignore list. Sounds like some truly pathetic things were posted.

Personally, I think she's pretty nice to look at and think the costume came out really good. Its one of those that can go bad quickly, but you were able to pull it off :thumbsup
 
You guys are right, and I am ashamed and truly sorry for my comment. I had just praised another member for their community spirit which seems blasphemous after I hurt my own reputation getting caught up in comments that have no place on this forum. My apologies to the poster, the woman, and to all my friends here on the RPF. It will not happen again.
 
Ha! Mine wasn't overly derogatory in any way, yet it managed to get censored. Probably because it had no direct relation to nor was it contributing to the thread in anyway. But being a 5 year old thread all contributions to the thread are thusly redundant!

Do everyone a big fave and just delete the thread entirey.
 
Because he, I mean I was just trying to help. Really did not care about about the so called hot babe. I have seen better. My only goal was to pass on information. I really did not look at the post date. I just remembered when they tried to reproduce the gold sink form 007 on Myth Busters. Go ahead and fault me for that. I was passing information along, not looking for the job.
 
Every so often someone accuses the RPF of being full of sexist douchebags; I usually think 'huh, really?'. I don't often see anything that pings my radar too badly on that front. Guess they have a point; must keep this thread in mind for next time.

Hecubus114, I think we have at least one ignore-list candidate now.
