Mynock's Sith Acolyte (SWTOR) armor build

After nearly 3 years in the making, my Sith Acolyte armor build is finished! I'll be submitting my costume for approval to the 501st shortly, with hi-rez photos, closeups and video which I will post here. In the meantime, here is a sneak peak at the armor!

Dang, that is awesome as heck. Ever thought of selling some pulls of the armor? I'm sure you could make a good bit of cash on it, it's definitely the best Acolyte armor out there. :)

(I actually need a suit of armor myself, heh. I have the mask, though not as epic as this one, but have yet to get the rest of the armor.)

WOW!!! Absolutely the BEST Acolyte I've seen! You should get 501st approval with no problems with this beauty of a costume! The detail is EXQUISITE!!! Well done, & well worth the wait! When you start your run in the JR, you know I'm in!:thumbsup

The mask was modelled in CAD like a lot of this armor, then 3d printed then processed and molded and cast.

And unfortunately I don't distribute my CAD files.

Just returned from Celebration 7 in Anaheim, and I am happy to say the armour was a complete hit! I've never been to a costuming event before, and Celebration was literally my first one, and it was truly an amazing experience! After about 2 hours of walking around on the floor, we tried to leave, but just kept getting assailed by people wanting photos! It was especially great to see the smiles on kids' faces when they posed for a photo. What a fantastic experience!

Here are some photos I compiled from the event. The absolute best part was when out of costume, and carrying my Shae Vizla helmet, I ran into the lead writer for SWTOR at BioWare, who recognized it and me from FaceBook, which led to a VIP invite to the SWTOR Cantina Tour at the Hilton with the senior SWTOR BioWare staff. It was by far the highlight of the entire trip!

Huge thanks to everyone who has followed my build over the past few years! Your support kept me inspired and kept me going despite the enormous amount of setbacks through the build.

May the Force be with you all! :)

Wow, now that is absolutely amazing getting that invite, quite by chance and some luck.

ITs nice to know that your efforts were noticed by the originators!

Do you guys know if Taras is still accepting orders for his sith acolyte armor pieces? I have some of his armor from an earlier run and want to complete the rest but I can't seem to get a hold of him to tell me if he's still doing those or not.

Sorry, guys! Still here. Still alive, though swamped. Between trying to catch up on orders, RnD on new stuff, as well as updating the site, I feel like I'm swimming against the current! I'm trying to consolidate all my messages, so please email me a taras@mynocksden.com. If I don't answer, email again!

So the new SWTOR trailer "Sacrifice" is just EPIC, and the acolytes make a return! Here are some screen grabs.

Anyway, in light of the new trailer, Sith Acolyte mask backplate in the works, which will turn my V5 mask into a full helmet as seen in the new trailer. To keep true to accuracy and proportion, the back piece is quite small and snug, so it may not fit all heads. I will not know the fit until I actually start casting. In any case, It will be a great addition to the build and allow for the mask to be displayed as a helmet.
