Mynock's Sith Acolyte (SWTOR) armor build

Re: Sith Acolyte (SWTOR) and Darth Nihilus Masks

It's been a while since the last update, so here I am!

Since I can't sit still and be satisfied with what I make once I make it, I decided to redo the pauldrons completely from scratch. Both Jedi and Sith appear to have wide shoulders, and some Jedi reference material I have clearly shows that there are indeed pauldrons under the robe. My oroginal pauldrons are bell shaped, and do not give the same wide shouldered look under the robe. Besides, I'm slighly fat these days, so the wider the shoulders, the less focus on the bulging midsection :))

Blur pretty much used Jedi armor for the Sith Acolyte model (with a few minor tweaks), the Acolyte has the same shoulder shape as the Jedi. It's safe to assume then, that the shoulder plates are the same (or nearly the same)for both characters.

Since the pauldrons are not fully visible, I took some artistic license once again incorporated the Imperial logo. I CAD modelled the pauldrons and 3D printed them in pieces. A lot of work went into these, considering they will most likely never show during cosplay.... but whatever! It's the principle! :)

I am almost finished the boot armor, which I should have ready in the next day or so.

It's been a while since I posted an update in the SA armor build, so here are a few things that have been completed lately.

The gauntlets have been fully finished and made wearable.

Shin/Calf armor plates fully done. Initially CAD modelled, 3D printed, molded and cold cast in aluminum using ONYX for the outer layer, and 65D for the inner:

Thigh plates (in development). Both thighs have been 3D printed, and turned into masters for molding. I had enough silicone to mold one thigh, but not the other. Once I do both, I'll post photos.

And COD plate, being the final part in the build also in development:

I'm expecting a shipment of silicone in the next few days, so I should have the COD plate made soon. It will be cast in rubber for full flexibility.

Thanks guys! It's been a long road, but it's finally coming to an end with this build. Can't wait to get it done!

Now, once you're done you need to sell a few to recover all the investment you have put down making it!

I know it's not about that for you, but hell, you went through the trouble to make masters :D

Alright, here it is: the first sneak peak of all the Sith Acolyte armor parts made to date gathered together for some group shots!

Hard parts are about 90% complete! Just need to finish molding and casting the right thigh, COD plate, and we're there (I missed the left boot plates in the photos)! Armour has been nearly 2 years in development now, and is extremely screen accurate. It is cast in resin (with the exception of boot plates and knuckles, which are vacuum formed). Since every piece has been molded, armour is 100% repeatable. Will be sporting this at C7 early next year!

So, I know you're probably CRAZY BUSY trying to get your stuff ready for SW Celebration right now, but any word on when you'll be making additional parts available? I sent you a PM on TFE, but haven't heard back from you there. Thought I'd try here to. PM sent.:cool

Build 98% there!

Another major update from the build. Sith Acolyte mask version 5! This will be the final iteration of the Bengal Sith Acolyte mask from me. It's completely CAD based, and VERY, VERY accurate :)

Mask is currently being molded, and will be ready to go shortly.

Also, redid the belt canister,

pouches,

as well as the elbows to make them spot on as well.

Pouches are non-functional and made from Task 16 rubber.

Have you thought about doing the back to the helmet as well, maybe as an add-on option? Maybe something that slides inside of the faceplate to be adjustable a touch for head size.

I have thought about making it, but in truth, since in the reference it's concealed by the hood, I decided to not tackle it. In real life it would be quite snug and not at all comfortable to wear, especially under the hood. I may make it at some point as an option, for display purposes if nothing else, but that would have to be placed on he backburner for a while as I have so many projects on the go at the moment, I don't know what to do with myself :)

The pinnacle of Sith Acolyte mask evolution is reached with my latest and final version of this mask! CAD-based, 3D printed, molded and cold cast in aluminum, this is the mask I've been trying to make all these years!
