My Star Wars DH-17 Rebel Blaster repaint.

Hi there.

I'm still a relative newcomer on these boards, haven't posted an awful lot, so thought i'd better post something, rather than just lurk.

Bought one of those Hasbro "Star Wars" DH-17 rebel blasters, that fire Nerf darts the other week and slightly tinkered with it, removing the original plunger handle and sanding off the raised lettering. Then gave it a coat of paint.

I know these have been done before by many others on here (who probably made a better job of it than I did), but here's the pics of my one...

A vast improvement I'm sure you'll agree.

Nice one!

Did you just use spray paint for this one?

Firstly, thanks for your comments everyone.

Now to answeer your question, yeah, gave it a coat of matt grey first, masked off the areas I wanted silver, then sprayed it satin black. I then masked off the black areas and sprayed the nozzle, ports and band silver using aluminium car paint.

I've actually got another one, which I intend to gut and transplant the electronics from a Captain Rex blaster into. But that's going to have to wait.

Thanks to some of the previous posts in here I learned how to remove the clear cap off the end of the sight by warming it with a hair dryer to melt the glue so that I could spray inside the sight. I intend to use that same method when it comes to dissassembling the next one.
