Thanks again for sharing, it really helped me plan out my first helmet. I was more timid in the weathering, but happy where I ended up. Still needs clear coat and permanent lenses, but here's where I am (my son modeling).

That helmet looks great, Nopal. Nothing wrong with "timid" weathering, some people feel that it represents the screen-used helmet better. But the inspiration for mine was dualedge's helmets, which look like the real hero helmets looked in real life. They also look insanely cool.

I have to ask, since it's come up in a bunch of posts, what is the best way for fitting the lenses? This is my first helmet, heck, really my first prop build ever and could use any advice the rest of you Finheads are willing to give me. BTW, great build!

Small update: even after considering the helmet done for many months, some (minor) things were still bugging me. So, I've tweaked the paint job a little, re-polished the lenses to make them as gloss as possible, weathered the leather straps from Valor's liner (by simply throwing it in the dryer) and covered the satin clear coat with a matte one. Now the weathering is a little subtler and catches the light better (I really think that the helmet looks better with a flat finish; satin is just too shiny, IMHO) So here's the revised helmet!
