My Rocketeer Collection Update 12/17 new layout and info

Re: My Rocketeer Collection Update 12/6 Production Lucky Lindy Maquette

By far, the BEST Rocketeer collection anywhere! I' have a good one going myself, but I won't attempt anything on this level.

I'm in the early stages of having a helmet built, and am working on searching for the Electric Tiki statue and acquiring various pins.

Re: My Rocketeer Collection Update 12/6 Production Lucky Lindy Maquette

Yikes, I havent updated this in months. I been super busy, so I havent had the time to update this or answer people's emails/pms. I'll try to answer them asap.

I added several more items to the collection since december, but unfortunately dont have pictures yet. I added several more helmets, screenused items, and an ILM Crew Lighter and materials etc etc...

Incredible!

Evil - do have a link you can send me on where to get the "predicta jacket"?

moviejackets.com - rocketeer jacket

The last I heard. He isnt making anymore until he atleast gets 4-5 people to commit to buy. I think he only has one person interested at this point in time. (which is a fellow member here). It is the best jacket available and nothing comes close to it.

The electric tiki statue is one of my favorite statues. It is pretty heavy and the statue looks great in person. Just be careful displaying it because some pieces can be easily broken off.

which pins do you have already? The bulldog cafe pin took awhile for me to acquire.

Fantastic collection!

What part of the country are you in? Ever been to Santa Maria, CA?

The air museum @ Santa Maria; the film was shot there and local flight enthusiasts repurposed this original set left behind by Disney.

I live in the socal area. Last september I went on a roadtrip up the coast to norcal. Along the way I dropped by several film site locations. Santa Maria was one of them. Beautiful Hangar. Too bad that they had to redo some of the ceiling due to termites. They were able to save the bigelow painted sign.

Only place I wouldnt recommend visiting is the bulldog cafe film site location. It is on private property now and the owner is a huge *******. The area is very run down and some questionable business happening there.

I had read someplace (or maybe even saw firsthand, I can't remember) that the cafe facade itself was part of the MGM/Disney backlot tour. But it seemed really small, like 3/4 scale.

What's to be seen at the film site and is/was the piece on the tour the actual exterior?

Re: My Rocketeer Collection Update 12/6 Production Lucky Lindy Maquette

Now matter how many times I have seen it, this movie always makes me smile. Definitely in my top 3 all-time faves.
Love your collection!

Still waiting for a good shot at meeting Campbell. I've heard he's a super cool dude.

EvilRocketeer, is there any update on the zippo or challenge coin?

You'll love it when you do. Saw me and my buddy dressed as Cap and Thor, came up and asked if he could take our pic! We said yes(of course), and he went away saying "Awesome!" Later, I found him and asked for a pic with him, and as we took it, he said "Wow, I'm getting my picture with Captain America!" I looked at him and said "No, I'M getting MY picture with Billy Campbell." Totally cool, laid-back guy.

EvilRocketeer,
Love your collection was curious about a few of the pieces. Are the Hughes World's Fair and BW Bigelow posters screen used? I heard Disney printed some of the Hughes World's Fair up for the 20th Anniversary. I also see the Bigelow colour program, I have one of the colour posters and was told it was made for the film but never did see it in the film. Were they used in scenes that were cut?

Can you post more of the storyboards from the Nazi Propaganda film? I own some pencil drawings from that same sequence, never have seen any of the cels. I know Disney was still doing physical cels for movies at the time. Anyways here are the pencils from the Nazi film, 3 originals plus 3 xeroxes that are hand coloured.

Re: My Rocketeer Collection Update 12/6 Production Lucky Lindy Maquette

Amazing collection!! I love the movie and your collection is breath taking!! Congrats

Re: My Rocketeer Collection Update 12/6 Production Lucky Lindy Maquette

Awesome looking collection! That storyboard has me wanting to see someone do a jetpack Nazi costume. Especially with that facemask, that could be really neat.

Unfortunately, the Bulldog Cafe is no longer at MGM Studios. Last I heard it was cut in half and laid in pieces in some graveyard storage area. The Cafe was part of the studio tour for many years. Disney never took care of it and it deteriorated over time.

Some great pictures of it here

As for it being the same one in the movie? Im just not sure. I never really fully looked into it. The Bulldog Cafe was made out of wood, foam, and chicken wire I believe. The cafe could have easily been shipped over with the gee bees and other props they used for the Rocketeer Gallery in 1991 to promote the film.

Here is a youtube video of the Rocketeer Prop Gallery

There was nothing really to see at the film site except an ******* owner haha. The trees and bushes are still there, but that is about it.

What con was it? Billy Campbell is a great guy. Really friendly and down to earth. I met him at the D23 event. It was definitely a great experience and he loved my first draft production script. I had it signed by everyone there.

I plan on having the lighters for sale by late august and the challenge coins for sale in september/october...The jy has tons of challenge coins, so I figured to wait until october aka the same month i sold them last time.

Ever get a reply from Rocketbobs?

I just saw him a few days ago and totally forgot to ask him again. Ill send him an email asap.

The Howard Hughes Worlds Fair poster is not screenused. I think the only screenused item used with that image was the portfolio he threw into the fire. A member of therpf made prints of the image and sold it on the site.
Creature Features (Disney event vendor for the 20th Anniversary) sold giclee copies at the D23 for $500. They claim only 20 were printed and made. Unfortunately, there was a huge box filled with them that clearly showed more than 20 made. The vendor also lied about how many 20th anniversary posters were made. They were suppose to be limited to 250 and a black light poster of 50. They had plenty of boxes filled with them. They were definitely trying to soak the franchise....

The BW Bigelow Poster is production made for the film, but not sure if it is screenused or not. I have to read the paperwork that came with it. The poster can be seen in one scene of the film. You remember the scene were Jenny is leaving the bulldog cafe after she finds out cliff crashed. While she is getting onto the bus, you can see the poster on a telephone pole.

Collection Update: I havent done this in a very long time. I added an amazing screen used prop to my collection yesterday. It seriously is amazing. I wont be adding any pictures of it and wont be saying what it is. Just super excited I got it.

I added two new photos. One is a pic of the hms helmet and the master replica production Helmet. I got the MR from a fellow rpf member who got it from one of the higher ups in MR. Truly appreciated his help in acquiring the piece.

Re: My Rocketeer Collection Update 9/13 The Conquests of Casanova

a little update...I added this prop several months ago, but havent had the time to load the pic.....

The Conquests of Casanova Screenused book- This book was used by Timothy Dalton and Jennifer Connelly. The book was the switch that opens the hidden room in Neville Sinclair's layer....aka the room with the nazi radio etc etc
