My Rocketeer Collection Update 12/17 new layout and info

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (updated 12/1)

Yeah, that was me. I really wanted it because I missed out on another blue print from the howard hughes hanger a few years ago (regretted losing it), and i wanted to make sure i got this one...Also, I been waiting for years for the banner to pop back up for a good price....

Yeah it is a shame that the MR production helmet looks clearly nothing like the MR prototype which is why I did a comparison to see how far off they were from each other..I dont think there are any measurements for the helmets, but i know there is a thread here with measurements of the packs...I haven't measured any of the helmets to see how off they are from the original..It never really crossed my mind because in person you can easily tell the differences...

I am finally getting an ACME helmet, so that is 7 helmets now. I will take a picture of all of them together. Also, I am finally getting my rocketpack finished...hopefully it will be finished within the month or two

Also, a heads up for every-one...Becareful buying helmets on ebay...Recently, a person sold a helmet claiming it was a spare prop from the movie and it clearly wasnt....I even emailed her about it...and she claimed she never said it was a production helmet even though her auction stated otherwise...

WOW! Great stuff Evil,

Especially this photo:

Does it have any dimensions on it? For the last 6 months or so I've been working (off and on) on an Autocad Drawing of the rocketpack. (there's a pic of it here from months ago when I was making the Ghostbusters Belt-loops) and I'd be interested to see how far out I am!

Here is another update.....I finally got my hands on an ACME helmet...Gorgeous helmet...Very well-made....and finally after a trade and a commission...I finally got my rocketpack done by a professional builder, I didnt want to take the risk of ruining an expensive kit with my horrible handyman skills, so here is finish product. It has a workable fan and lights

THIS is absolutely stunning! :love

Love the shiny metal look. Have you build up the ACME kit yourself or was it finished by a professional model builder?

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (updated 12/1)

Found the answer by myself he, he... :$:

"...I finally got my rocketpack done by a professional builder, I didnt want to take the risk of ruining an expensive kit with my horrible handyman skills, so here is finish product. It has a workable fan and lights..."

Could you PM me details (builder contact, from where I could get the kit, price for the kit and build-up, etc.)? Would be great.

Even a decent man could not resist fapping to this thread. Beautiful.

:lol :thumbsup.......i'm sure plenty of members have fapp off to this thread....even though i am sure they wont admit it...;)

On a small update: I am in the process moving things around and trying to figure out the best display...The way I have the rocketpack setup is perfect....just trying to decide which poster or items I am going to use on my closet door....

Hey Evil,

thank you very much for the quick response. Helps a lot. :thumbsup

I wonder if you’ve got these buttons and the air circus ticket already in your collection? I couldn’t find them in your thread. :confused

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Rocketpack Finished 12/18)

Yeah, no problem..Let me know if you ever need anymore help....

as for the ticket and buttons....no I do not own them...I am actually really picky when it comes to certain items which helps in the long run saving money and space haha..

I focus getting the big items first and work myself downward to the knicknacks...sometimes, I make a few exceptions

with the buttons, my main concern was getting the disney Cloisonne pins out of the way because the bulldog cafe pin and a few others were difficult to come by for awhile...i'm still missing one pin from the set....people who own them think they are worth more than their actual worth...seen them on ebay for ridiculous prices and they never sell....i wouldnt overpay for a pin...not worth it...

the ticket is different story.....not really a big fan of hypothetical props that didnt appear in the film. The ticket is nicely made, but i just dont buy props based on "what it would have looked like in the film"....

it really helps to save money....i already spent too much on the hobby...gf gives me the evil eye all the time...haha

and my room is filled head to toe with rocketeer items...just dont have the space anymore

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Rocketpack Finished 12/18)

I understand you completely regarding the money issue :lol

In my case it's even more difficult because I'm interested in such a lot of movie stuff...

And because I think these buttons belongs to your collection I would send them to you for free, if you want them. Take it as little post-christmas-gift.

PM me your shipping address if you are interested.

I can't believe I missed this update to your thread! Your pack is gorgeous! :love Did you have Bob finish it? Do you have a harness for it?

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Rocketpack Finished 12/18)

Amazing collection! Beautiful jetpack.
I am so going back to re-watch the movie. :)

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Rocketpack Finished 12/18)

You have such an unbelievably amazing collection. Looking at that pack makes me want to go back and watch the movie again; I used to watch it non-stop as a kid.

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Rocketpack Finished 12/18)

Thanks for the compliments guys......It is kinda funny...when I first started my collection, the first two items I really wanted was the helmet and pack.....i guess i got lost along the way and took 7 years to get the pack...haha

Bob didnt build the pack...he was just a tad bit out of my price range...i need to save as much money as possible to build the rest of the costume which is on hiatus as of right now...which worked out in the long run because the pack is very well-done

I was hoping to have the costume done by june but too many things going on right now with life and this economy...that it maybe better to hold off.

And it doesnt have a harness unfortunately....im considering trying to build one myself or hiring a fellow finhead to do it...he made an amazing harness for his pack...and it almost matches the screen-used harnesses...so i am considering using him in the future

Helmet progress.....i'm not finished yet...been busy cutting and trimming the resin...need to work on the eyes and mouth more...jus taking a few days break

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Rocketpack Finished 12/18)

Yeah, the Acme helmet, while VERY nice, is very thick and has a ton of resin on the inside that has to be cleaned up.

Can you shoot me some detail on who finished your pack? Not that I could afford it, but I still have a kidney left that I could sell... :angel

Re: My Rocketeer Collection aka my finhead obsession (Rocketpack Finished 12/18)

That rocketpack looks cool. I guess your route is the way to go if you want it done right. I'll probably have to get something like this done in the future as well.
