Im thinking about doing a brushed steel look for the finished product, and the black parts yet to get painted will actually be a rubberized paint to coat the inside with also. working on a liner for the parts also. Can anyone think of anything im missing??

Looking amazing dude. Hats of to you. What have you decided for the lenses/eye bits?
I found my lenses fogged up as it gets hot wearing the helmet. But worth it at the time.
look forward to more updates

I was still really hoping to find either some place to make them custom, or maybe just order replacement lenses straight from Oakley and adapt them to fit. Great work by the way ;)!!
i was assuming about the fogging issue, i think anything so close without vents would have this issue unless using fog resistant lenses. I was thinking about adding a small vent to the lower chin area b/t the chin top and the bottom portion of the faceplate and i also plan to mount a 25mm fan in the chin area just to help a bit. Im also thinking about molding this if there are a few interested and maybe making a few copies when im done.

I found a guy on ebay that sells mirrored visors(used for sports helmets and starwars helmet) it comes in sheet form. My girlfriend had a good suggestion, using vented black material of some sort and layering, so it still looks black but the lenses should'nt fog. Antifog spray was suggested too.
I've thought of a fan, haven't had chance to look into it.
Oakley's definately if your splashing out though. Can't wait to see.
the paint job is awesome

hey dude, hope things are well. How's things going with the project? You've not updated for a while. look forward to seeing it finished.
regards
Mike

very cool helmet. For lenses, what about screen door mesh? if you layered it then you would get the look you want and great air flow with now worries of a visor fogging up.

this looks so awesome 8D i just recieved the file from blackkaos and i can't wait to make it ^^ do you have some good advises for me???

Looks great! I'm going to do a Red Hood soon and I was thinking about rubberized paint on the exterior (like dip-it spray). But I was wondering about how hot that would make it and what the interior odor would be like. Curious to know your results.

Ive used the spray for projects before but never as a finish. I wouldn't assume it would cause the helmet to be any hotter than any other finishes, but maybe someone else will chime in on this question. As far as odor, I really never found the dip-it or plasti-dip sprays to have much of a lingering odor so more than likely it would smell like what ever you finished the interior with... risen or if you chose to paint the interior. I also find a good inner touch is to add a thin foam layer to add a finished look to a project. You can find the thin foam sheets at any hobby lobby and more than likely most craft shops... these sheets can come in either normal or one side sticky, but I would recommend using the normal sheets and adhering them with a spray glue ( the adhesive on the sheets doesn't stick for a long period time).

Amazing build :cool..... because of our awesome work I am going to star building my own Red Hood costume keep up the great work.

How long does it take to actually put together the Pep file itself. I'm thinking of buying my own (and I do alot of papercraft work) but was curiosu how long the full size models take to build.

Hey guys. Been a member for a while now but just getting into making stuff. Haven't made anything yet and no experience at all. I'm getting into cosplay as well, and looking to Red Hood as a first costume. I love this helmet. How hard is pepekura and how hard is it to work with resin and all that?
