My Randy Cooper SD build-up... in progress

That's a great and clean build-up ! I really like the nose mod !
Cant wait to see it finished. Hope your LED's arrive soon.

Thanks man, Got the lower hull LED's installed along with the side trenches. Just gotta await the upper LEDs to arrive and she'll be more or less finished. I'm gonna try to paint tonight.........wife made me mow the yard instead last eve........LOL.

Cutting the grass :confused Someone clearly has their priorities mixed up.:lol Get that beauty painted so I can see it.

The good news........it's half painted.........the bad news...........I'm out of paint.........LOL. Gotta hit hobbytown on Friday and get some more. Man that model takes alot of paint!!! I went thru 5 large bottles of Tamiya flat white. Got some of the fiberoptics working, just waiting on another set of lights to arrive. :)

snapped a preview shot.........couldn't resist. It shows where I'm heading with it anyway. :)

Thanks guys, here are a few of the finished paintjob. Keep in mind that the ANH version is solid white, no gray panelling. I'm only test fitting the engines panel, so they haven't been properly seamed yet. Still it gives a good indication of the finished product sans the lighting. The engine lighting test looked phenomenal. If my lights show up monday, I'll have that completely installed and finished that night.

Great build with the details. Just curious, are there any good references out there on where to place the details on the SD model, from the tamiya 1/700 parts :confused

Thanks guys.............no no guide other than just looking at reference photos. Some of the details were placed here or there intentionally, but most were just haphazardly placed in autopilot if you know what I mean. My goal was to glue stuff on and use up as many detail pieces as I could. When I needed something to fit a space, but didn't have that size, I would glue different pieces together in a different manor and glue that in the space. I'd be willing to bet this is how the ILM folks did things as well.

Glad you guys like the results.

Dave :)
