My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): "Home-Theater finally finished!"

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE (1989)

Yes...I know! I know! ''...and a Stone Grail Tablet...and a Knight's Sword...and a False Grail...etc., etc., etc...'' I think at this point my wife would probably prefer it if I took up bowling as a hobby instead! :lol

Thank you, of course.

Grail Tablet-I think I have a Gordon Gecko

Knight Shield-same

Knight sword-Sarednab

Flase Grail-Sared,.......

Yeah, you got some work to do.

Remember, wives come and go that's the plain truth of it. Collections stay with you forever.

Very nice collection!

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE (1989)

Congratulations on a truly impressive collection. I too am a huge Indy fan so I really enjoy seeing the Indiana Jones items. You can't help but be impressed with Restaurajones' version of the Holy Grail. I have one myself And I think it is the best one available. I just picked up Relicmakers Cross of Coronado and it ranks up there with some of my favorite props. If you get a diary, you can't go wrong with Sarednad's. I have one of his hero diaries and it is fantastic. Keep us posted on your progress.

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE (1989)

Well let me help you out:

Elsa's Lighter . Relic something, Hunter, Maker, Creator. I can't remember right now but whichever one Brenton is not. He makes the best. Not a sticker or just painted. It has depth. Hard to explain

It's RelicRaider you're looking for. And indeed he makes the best Elsa's lighters ou there.

Anyways Adam, I wish you the best, you're off to a great start with your RJ Grail. But like jameth1971 said, Indiana Jones is a pretty time and money consuming license. I remember spending like 4K in barely 3 months last year while I originally only wanted to get a few "good enough" replicas to fill an empty shelf (needless to say that I was forced to buy a new detolf after a few weeks).

Then again congratulations, I'm a proud owner of an RJ grail as well and after a lot of time I'm still impressed with this amazing piece.

Since I've added several new props to my collection in the past couple of months, I thought I'd post some updated photos. Just click on the picture to enlarge.

That is exactly what happened to me. I just wanted a Grail Diary and Ra Headpiece. That's all. Well it did not work out that way and like you said, 4k later,....... :lol

A new addition to the collection just arrived a few days ago. It's the United Cutlery version of the ''Sting'' sword from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Overall I've got to say that I'm pretty pleased with it. (I think my finally getting a decent version of the ''One Ring'' replica will be next on the agenda.) :love

So at this point, are you and Alan just trying to "one up" each other?

:lol

Very impressive, and great additions as always :D

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): ROMANCING THE STONE (1984)

Doh!! It's not my fault (Han Solo impersonation)

:rolleyes Oh come on man! That's got to be the worst Han Solo impersonation I've ever heard! You've really got to sell it Brad! (I think that it's probably all in the eyebrows anyhow.) :lol

On another note, I received my Romancing the Stone map & emerald props in the mail today from RelicMaker's latest run. I've got say, the man has not lost his touch. Simply outstanding work, as usual Brenton. :thumbsup Thank-you again for making both of these items available to everyone. It's really great to have these beauties back in my collection again. (For those of you out there who may not know it, I've already owned these props before but I was forced to sell them a little over a year ago due to some financial difficulties. I think it's safe to say that the next time something like that ever happens, I'll just sell my blood instead.) ;)

Thank-you once again also to Jedifyfe (Brad) for generously sharing his Joan Wilder Romance Novel book-covers and ''Angelina'' sailboat photos with the rest of us in the FREE PAPER-PROPS section. http://www.therpf.com/f40/romancing-stone-67588/#post961711 (At this point, I couldn't imagine displaying the emerald & map without them! Thanks Brad!) :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

And now without further ado, I give you...

...the return, of ''El Corazon''!

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): FRANKENSTEIN (1931)

Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Something new came in the mail today. It's funny how we as human-beings can often develop a ''soft-spot'' for, (or have a life-long interest in), a certain movie character that is perhaps due to a childhood experience other than seeing them in a movie. When I was a kid, (9 years old to be exact), there was one time in particular that I had to stay home from school for a couple of days due to a cold. (Nothing too serious mind you. Just your basic ''lay around on the couch all afternoon feelin' crappy'' kinda thing. You know.)

My mom ran out to the grocery store to pick up a few items, and when she got back she handed me a magazine that she picked up as an afterthought because she knew how bored I was. It was the October 1980 issue of The Electric Company. And who was on the cover, you ask? That's right. Frankenstein! I was immediately hooked.

A couple of years later in our school's library I came across a kid's book called Movie Monsters by Alan Ormsby. It had all kinds of cool stuff in it about ''do-it-yourself'' monster make-up, and making a Frankenstein costume, etc.

I ended up devouring everything that I came across pertaining to Frankenstein when I was growing up, even though I never actually had a chance to see the movie until I was much older. To this day he remains my favorite classic movie monster. (Thanks mom.) :)

Even though I can't fit a life-sized Frankenstein statue into my collection, (as much as I'd love to), I did the the next best thing. I got a 1:1 scale bust from CineArt. ''Welcome home Frankie!''

Hi Adam

Another great item. One of my classic favourites too. Funny you mentioning that story once the person "responsible" for my interest in movies (fantastic) was also my mom (not because I was at home sick, but simply because she really enjoyed Hammer Classics and so I often got to see some of those great movies)
Frankenstein's 1:1 mask replica has been for a long time on my wanna buy list but so far haven't been able to do so. It's an excelent piece in any prop collection because Jack Pierce's work is timeless. IMO you now have two of the most iconic movie items - Dorothy's ruby slippers and Frankenstein's mask. Congrats
