Thanks man! (You can't beat a good nurse's hat, huh?) :)

In keeping with my recent fascination of 70's cinema, my latest addition to the prop collection is a green ''Donner'' knowledge crystal from SUPERMAN: THE MOVIE (1978). This is from the recent run that hydin has been working on and I've got to say, these crystals look absolutely incredible in person! I've wanted one of these things for years, (after seeing them in so many other peoples collections), and now that I finally have one I can see what all the fuss was about. Mere pictures don't do these crystals justice. Thanks again Chris. Outstanding work. :thumbsup :thumbsup :thumbsup

I was asked a question via PM that I thought I would go ahead and answer here in case anyone else was in need of the same information.

Hey Adam,

I recall seeing a pair of great ruby slippers in your collection thread a while back, and am just wondering if you remember where you got them from?

I'm looking into getting a pair for my own collection and want to find the best possible ones.

Thanks for any help you can give!

I got them from a company that I initially found on e-Bay called Princess Pumps. Custom Orders The shoes that I originally bought from them don't appear to be offered as one of the standard products on their website any more, (the $200.00 pair seems to be the closest available to what I have). The main differences are that with my shoes they; 1.) used a vintage pair of pumps, 2.) included the ''Innes Shoe Co.'' tag inside, 3.) had Judy Garland's name written on the sides of the shoes, and 4.) had orange felt applied to the bottoms of the soles. On their website they appear to have a ''Custom Orders'' section, so there is probably a good chance that you can get your shoes made to whatever specifications you want if you just ask them. (I paid $275.00 for mine about a year and a half ago, so I'm guessing that they'd still be somewhere around that price range.) Good luck!

I don't care how masculine you are, owning a pair of Ruby Red Slippers is cool. NICE!

BTW Adam, I apologize to your family for setting the fire under your prop searching butt. Your collection is IMPRESSIVE!!!

Sorry Brad but it's no good. My wife still swears and mutters under her breath whenever she hears me excitedly proclaim, ''Check out what Jedifyfe just got!'' :lol (You're definitely on her hit-list.)

Re: My Prop Collection - New Addition(s): APOCALYPSE NOW (1979)

Inspired by Mr Webber's incredible Apocalypse Now prop thread, http://www.therpf.com/f9/apocalypse-now-replica-collection-end-138994/ , I went ahead and ordered a set of metal dog-tags to represent Marlon Brando's character Colonel Kurtz. I based Kurtz's Social Security Number and religion on some of the paper-props that Adam Savage had already worked on in his ''Kurtz Dossier'' thread, http://www.therpf.com/f40/kurtz-dossier-118920/ , (specifically his Military Transfer Form and Marriage Certificate), and I just randomly chose his blood-type as ''O Positive'' because it's the most common. These particular dog-tags definitely have a more decidedly modern look to them, (as opposed to Vietnam-era ones), so I know that they're not at all ''screen accurate'', but I'm still pretty happy with how they turned out until a better option comes along.
