My Predator Build! A trail & Error

You have a very understanding dad, he's probably secretly enjoying being part of it and will want his own suit before long.

Can't wait to see more. I remember my first build it was fun and trying at times. Heck I had to wear spary painted combat boots because I could not get the feet right lol. Good luck and have fun with it.

So some advice one what to buy for my next part-

I have my Latex, i Have the rollers and i also have a HVT sprayer.
What i need is advice on painting the latex.

I have read about using rubber cement thinned with White spirt - im not sure on what type of ink to use

What other options do i have when it comes to painting the skin. Will these be suitable for the face also.

Please all your comments would be much appreciated as i want to order the stuff this week.

All right so I am not a pro at this at all. This will only be my second build so I can give u some ideas on stuff I used that was cheap that worked for a bit.

I was living on Kodiak island when I built mine and stuff is pretty expensive on the rock. So I used latex house paint and then got a can of white liquid latex. I mixed all of my paints in small jars with the white liquid latex. This made the paint lay pretty nice over the latex body suit.

What I forgot about was sealing the paint once it was on the suit. I wore the suit from 5 pm till 3 am on Halloween night after walking and moving in the suit ( it was also 17 degree that night)the paint flaked off of the under arms and between the legs but other than that it held up for a first try.
Plus it only coast about 70 bucks for paint and brushes. So it would be around 30 bucks here in the real world. Hope this helps

It helps mate, just shows there is a few different options that I can do. I atucally forgot I have ordered rubber cement and white spirit so looks like I'm going that way. Just need to find out if I need oil based ink or water.

Fleabay lop

Although I have messed up. I got the acrylic paint but I have order rubber cement- and it's oil paint I need for the rubber cement. Lol school boy error me thinks
Or am I being retarded and I need to spary rubber cement on latex to get the acrylic to stick

Or do I just mix the acrylic with latex and thin

So confused

So i started spraying my suit, not sure the layer wil dry properly as it seems to be soaking throught the suit

you will need to strengthen it before you can add clay to it, or it will just collapse under the weight. Resin is best, but at a push several layers of PVA glue will firm it up, not the best option, but if you are only needing a base for clay it may hold up long enough to get the sculpt under way. super glue will also firm it up, but you will need a lot and again not the greatest option.

If this is just a base to mould over and not the actual mask you could fill it with expanding foam. Iv currently doing this for a friends clone trooper armour as the pepakure files where not acurate but a good starting piont then used car body filler to get the shape I wanted strait on top of the paper. iv done this a few times before snd has worked well for me as a light weight base. if the paper mask is part of your finnished mask then ignore everything iv just said
