My old Mal costume

By moving boxes for changing my flat I recently found in one my old Mal Reynolds costume I made back in time when I was 19 years old
and it still fits like a glove. As I´m a new posting member I thought the professionels here could give me some advice for future changing details.
I know that quite a lot isn´t sa but still I like the look of all the self made pieces, especially of the boots I made of some Tom Tailer shoes and old officer boots,
what do you think about it ?

I'm not an expert, but the one thing that jumps out at me are the white parts of the soles of the boots. I'd be inclined to take a black or brown permanent marker to them.
