My Office/Prop Room/Museum......Pics!!!

Anyone else notice how AMAZING that desk is. Man, I feel jipped sitting under this 40$ computer desk....

Anyone want to donate ME a nice wooden desk like that?
:lol

and VaderDarth strikes again!!

Beautiful setup.

Could you please (pretty please) tell me what mannequin you used or how you set that armor up?

Funnily enough, my brother recently gave me a stormtrooper blaster for my engagement present =)

and in front of the entire family I told my fiance - "oh, well now that I have the blaster, I'll have to get a lifesized stormtrooper to display it! haha"

Either way - awesome setup. Thanks for sharing.

One quick note I did notice that your pics are quite yellow. Probably because of the lightbulbs used in your office. I took the liberty of color correcting a few of them just to give people a quick preview of what your office would look like if they were actually there. (human eyes color correct automatically) They're not perfect (some are slightly too blue)...but I just wanted to give you a look. You could use photoshop or download a free program called "color correction wizard" and play around with the settings.

Please let me know if you don't want these pictures up - I'll take them down right away.

Bigturc, thanks for your suggestion, it has worked perfectly. I found several black floor lamps at Target for 8.99 each, I removed the wiring, added an MR style name plate at the top and voila!!! Instant museum quality name plates. I'll post a pic later showing the result. Again, thanks.

Dave :)

Man, I love your office. Simply gorgeous.

But every time I look at your pics, I kick myself hard for not getting the Vanderstelt print at C3. I love that print and now it's simply impossible to find.

Hector

Thanks gents. Yeah I love the V print. His likenesses are equaled by noone in the art world........at least in my opinion. He might not have nailed the ANH Vader likeness, but at least he attempted the widow's peak.

Dave :)

wait til I'm finished with it. I plan on putting a bladed saber in his right hand and pose him in the "been waiting for you Obi Wan" pose. He'll stand directly across the room from Old Ben. :)

Dave

I've often wondered...who are the plaques for? You or others who visit? Is there anyone who doesn't know who Vader is, or recognize a Stormtrooper? I'm not getting down on your display room as I think it's amazing, I'm just saying. The extra stands seem a bit of overkill. I would just put them on the wall and eliminate the stands. Still, amazing stuff. :thumbsup

I'm VERY impressed by that Star Destroyer. If it were mine it would be hanging from the ceiling though.

It is a museum of sorts. Word has gotten around and I get a pretty good flow of visitors. Mostly patients and their families, but it seems to increase with time. The kids know the names of these items but their parents appreciate the reminders....and vice versa. I may yet plant the SD on the wall, but for now I like having the ability to switch it to whichever side I want to view. I'll most likely put it on a mirrored base under glass. Time will tell.

Dave :)

VD:

Saw the pic's with the SD in "space". You most certainly have done the same effect with a SD in front of our own little rock. I'd love to see that.

What a great job.

Shawn

Got lots of tweaking to do, but here is my newest addition to the room. It makes me happy at this stage, so I thought I'd share. I'll definitely be replacing the hands.

Amazing!! I've grown out of SW, in the last few years, but this re-awakes the excitement of anyone walking into that office.

Oh man that stormtrooper looks awesome. What blaster is that you have with the full size ST? This is so the ideal collection set up.

Holy cow Dave. That Obi-Wan looks fantastic:love Great idea to display them both....master and apprentice(y)thumbsup:thumbsup
The face sculpt and the robe looks very accurate:thumbsup
