My Office/Prop Room/Museum......Pics!!!

Here are a few pics of the V2 Emperor Palpatine (ROTJ) robes just in from Hermes. We made several alterations to the V1 since it's debut a few months back. Also are some pics of my updated Jawa (replaced costume with a more ANH accurate one thanks to a great friend of mine). And then the Old Ben costume on the upgraded mannequin. Finally a photo of my new credenza which houses my HD Theater system.

Thanks guys. The helmets are displayed on paper towel holders I got for about 12 bucks each at bed bath and beyond. They are sitting on a stock item shelf from Lowes. They work quite nicely I think.

V71, he's a whole lot creepier in person. :)

Why do so many private collections and displays SLAUGHTER anything that's ever been seen at any official exhibit? I mean, it's amazing. The LFL. archivists should be embarrassed at what their displays look like compared to what is seen on these boards. I'm not joking when I say that. Just really impressive and beautifully displayed. This is how things should look at a Star Wars exhibit. Bravo!

well, unfortunately, alot of the folks responsible for setting up the LFL displays have neither the passion that we do, nor the eye for detail that we do here on this board. Most of the time, the folks setting up displays.......do so for whatever display comes down the pike, not solely for Star Wars exhibits. Plus they have a short period of time to organize and execute the setup, whereas, I get to tweak stuff from now on if you know what I mean?

Thanks for the compliment however. :)

Dave

That Vader is amazing! I keep going back to have a look, and it takes my breath away. That IS Vader from ANH. How long did you work in that?

Thank you for that. My ANH Vader has been a goal of mine since childhood. I began searching in earnest for helmets and armor back in 1995 which led me to the prop replica hobby shortly thereafter. I have upgraded the display many times thru the years. More upgrades are on the way, but there is no hurry. It all takes time and patience. I am finally 100% happy with the helmet and facemask. I have gloves in the works but they are custom gloves thru a friend of mine.

Dave :)

I'm sure there are others who would want it, but if you ever sell that Vader...put my name on the list. I don't have bottomless pockets, and life size isn't something that normally appeals to me because for it to be done correctly, as it was here, and is it is with GINO's pieces....for it to look like it walked off the screen instead of something that looks like a nice halloween costume...very pricey and difficult to nail. I'm a perfectionist. I don't want something that looks like Vader. I want VADER. But, for about four years, I've toyed more and more with the idea of assembling a full-size Vader. It just seems such a daunting, time consuming, and expensive task. I have a GREAT ESB helmet that I got less than a year ago here on the board. Having that on display really brought the idea of the full figure to the front of my mind. The helmet just looks incomplete without the rest of the body. I know I'll go down that road one day. I just don't know when. I would only want to, though, if the results looked like this. Anything else would just be a disappointment.

I hear ya, one thing this hobby has taught me is attention to details. I never give in until it looks like it did in a particular scene from the films. Until I am 100% happy with the results......I keep upgrading. Luckily I'm almost out of upgrades on the these figures.

God I just love your Vader!!! It simply a work of art! I think I would just sit there and stare at him all day! Very beautiful!!!

It is so very cool working in an office like this. I literally sit there gawking at these props and statues all day. it's a huge blast to share it with my friends. I adore visitors reactions to the figures and Models. You can see the "10 yr old" inside them just come bursting out. :)

Still my favorite collection on this board...and my favorite ANH Vader also:love
Even my girlfriend, who doesnt share my love to SW, is more than impressed...she is loving Wicket the most:rolleyes:lol

Very cool. Yes, it´s so well displayed, and such a great collection. The new pose of the Emperor is cool as well. I love your Obi Wan.

Thanks folks. You are too kind. I can't illustrate it as the room is not shaped in such a way that I can photograph it, but Old Ben is facing off with Vader directly across my desk. As soon as I finish the gloves and some poseable hands on Vader he'll be holding a lightsaber like in the duel scene on the Death Star.

Dave :)

You need a 360 movie Dave to show the room in all it's glory, I bet your camera software could make that happen.
