My Office/Prop Room/Museum......Pics!!!

Re: Updated pics!!! 2-11-09

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. That Vader is just killing me!!! My god man! If only I had the room, I would fill every inch of wall space!! Very cool. The presentation is clean and very well done! Love the plaque stands and I love the fact that Vader and Obi-Wan are "facing off"

Nice blend of professional taste with a sci-fi decor! One of these days I'm going to have to do the same thing.

Love the desk!

I am actually. I'm still collecting all the parts. I have all but about 3 items (all original parts) and I'll be ready to assemble. I plan on putting the Interr-droid up on the wall above vader's shoulder.

Dave :)

That will look amazing!
Go find those last three parts already:cool

Once again, fantastic as usual Dave :thumbsup

I'm loving the Jawa pose... "What? How did I know the droid was going to blow up?" :lol

Cheers,

Kraig

Thanks guys, your comments are most kind. Vader71, I keep waiting for a good price for one of the pieces, it's a surgical instrument still in use today, it runs about 1200 bucks and it's so small, I can't justify the cost yet. I keep searching for a used one at a discounted price. The other parts are cheaper, I just have been lazy about getting them. They aren't as rare.

Dave :)

Thanks man, I'm quite fond of the big fella. :) I still have a couple tweaks left to go before I call him finished. Seems like a never ending project indeed.

Dave :)

totally love it when this thread gets an update Dave.....that is simply an amazing collection and displayed truly superbly! I love the Jawa, a great pose......

Your room is an inspiration to us all.......

Vaderdarth, I just moved to the South Bay area from upstate NY, and one of the things I am worrying about with displaying my collectibles are earthquakes. I don't mean I'm sitting here worrying about "the big one", if I was I wouldn't have moved here, but I am worried about the smaller ones that would be enough to knock things off shelves.

Is that something you worry about?

John.

Not around this area. There are fault lines up north of us, but not close enough to create anything we'd notice much down this far.

Ouch. $1200 is a bit much for a prop recreation. Is it the type of thing that gets used only once and trashed or does it get reused?
Could a replica be machined up for alot less?

It would cost ya 40,000 dollars to get this puppy replicated......LOL. It's a very complex, multiple working part surgical instrument. I lucked up and found one in France for less money. I'll show it all off once I get everything. There is still one mystery instrument that hasn't been identified yet. I've got feelers out everywhere for it.

Thanks Kev, it's certainly one of my faves. Move of my faves will all be on the same side of the room when complete.

Dave :)

I need to just get on with it I suppose since I have 85% of the pieces needed for it. I can always add the missing ones when I do locate them. It certainly won't take away from it.

First though, I need to work on my Hero SS TIE build. I began that this morning. I'm going slow on purpose as I don't want to screw up on a very expensive build. It will be wall mounted in my office somewhere above the Star Destroyer.

Dave :)

You must have finally gotten that cool shade you ordered, cool deal.
Looking forward to seeing that one done up.

What about the Vader TIE?

Maybe you need a Vader TIE and two of the regular ones flanking him :)

Welcome to Redondo Beach!!

I have lived here (virtually) my entire life.
The last time the earth shook enough to knock anything off a shelf was the Sylmar quake close to 40 years ago.

Discretely securing items, however, is always a prudent practice.

Love to see pictures of your collection.

Do you live in north or south Redondo (I am just in the north end).

Kevin.
